Physics Tutoring review by John in West Jordan, UT
The student is a very pleasant and quite bright student. His understanding of mechanics is probably above average. Right now, his class is working on Newton I, II and III laws, and he was easily able to give me examples of those principles. They have an upcoming lab on Hooke's law, and we discussed how this lab will likely be inverted on an exam, in order to see how much the students really took away from the exercise (they will use computer graphing and best line fit to determine k for this exercise). We also reviewed all the Algebra II that has been presented this semester - namely, factoring and multiplying/dividing rational expressions. We discussed multiplying by negative 1 and grouping in factoring.

This was the final preparation session for the midterm finals for physics and calculus next week. For physics, we covered all topics including projectile motion, forces and Newton's laws, momentum, energy and power. Conservation of momentum, conservation of mechanical energy, impulse and momentum law were also covered. We solved problems from the entire semester. The student is doing very well on all subjects and is well prepared for the test. The last part of the lesson was devoted to brushing up on the calculus/ algebra/ geometry topics from the upcoming math test. We quickly went over all topics to make sure she has a complete command over all subjects.

Physics Tutoring review by Kevin in West Jordan, UT
Today the student and I went over homework and study problems related to sound and light waves, but mostly sound waves. There were a few tricky details he was having some issues with, but by the end of our session he was knocking out all the problems on his own. Great work!

Physics Tutoring review by Manuel in West Jordan, UT
This session focused on the student's physics lab on electrostatics and electric field. His teacher focused heavily on drawing E field lines for a variety of charge configuration. At the end the student got to play around with a field hockey simulator which used electric charges as the force to push the puck. This was entertaining and engaging.

Physics Tutoring review by Steven in West Jordan, UT
The student was doing a review of pretty much all of Newtonian mechanics for his midterm exam, and was getting a very good handle on a lot of the material. We mainly discussed some shortcuts to help with computations if time was short, and making sure the fundamental concepts were clear on subjects like conservation of energy and projectile motion.

Physics Tutoring review by Bailey in West Jordan, UT
In today's session, we worked through a pendulum worksheet that included pendulum periods and frequencies as well as how these values shift when either the length or acceleration due to gravity changes. The student seemed to have caught the hang of it by the end.
