Novato, CA Physics tutoring
This session, we focused on calculating work and power and using the work/power equations. The student demonstrated good understanding of the use of the equations when given force, distance, and/or work/power. He mostly needed clarification and explanation of when to use the given mass to calculate force. We also discussed the use of the cosine in the equations and how this affects work. We covered the use of keywords in these problems, including "pushes/pulls" "lifts" and "carries" to determine how to solve the problem. At end of session, we briefly covered the upcoming topic of potential vs kinetic energy, reviewing a recent lab she completed in class.
