I am currently attending Connecticut College studying Psychology with a minor in Applied Statistics. I know how hard it can be to learn new material and to find a tutor a student can connect with. In my studies, I have learned many techniques to stay organized and thoroughly understand course content, while being sensitive to the variation in how people learn differently. In terms of ages I am best suited for the high school and college levels, although I do enjoy helping with younger students, too.I attended Baldwin Wallace College for my undergraduate degrees in economics and philosophy and Cleveland State University for graduate degree coursework in philosophy. Aside from the degrees I took a variety of courses including mathematics, logic, psychology, comparative religion, and the natural sciences. Nowadays I still read philosophy, especially the works of Plato and Kierkegaard. Other intellectual pursuits include studying ancient history (typically deep antiquity) as well as some cosmology, astronomy, and physics.I enjoy traveling, and I've been around Europe a few times, Mexico twice, visited Egypt once (easily my favorite trip), and a variety of trips here in the US. Travel is a wonderful activity not only for the sites and history one witnesses but also the cultures and individuals encountered -- most importantly, these things give us deeper perspective on ourselves and afford the opportunity for self-reflection and growth. That's ultimately what it's all about: improving ourselves, achieving our goals, and helping others. I completed my freshman and sophomore years at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in the spring of 2015, where I double majored in English and Finance. I worked two years for Rutgers Upward Bound TRIO program, in which I helped students ranging from freshmen to seniors in high school learn and practice the fundamentals of writing, reading comprehension, essay writing, SAT Math, SAT Writing, and SAT Reading.In the summer of 2015, I moved to the Bay Area, where I am currently taking fall semester courses at Berkeley City College. Although It was initially hard for me to swallow the stark reality of uprooting the school I loved and thrived in, as well as the friends and family that had nurtured my growth in the beautiful Garden State, the prospect of attending a more prestigious Californian university to complete my undergraduate and (hopefully) law school studies was too great of an opportunity not to take a leap of faith for. Because I, too, am a student chasing his dreams, nothing gives me more satisfaction and hope in helping others to not only become more comfortable with their studies, but also become passionate in their strides toward their academic and personal goals.
