I am a graduate of Lindenwood University in Saint Charles. I obtained a Masters of Public Administration in 2013 and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice in 2011. Since graduation, I have done various work with at risk youth and education. This summer I traveled to the Czech Republic for an international YMCA youth festival, where I was able to learn what other countries are doing regarding education. I have an extreme passion for education and how it correlates to crime, and am pursuing the application process of a doctoral degree in this field. I have experience working with students first-eighth grade in various subjects. I am most passionate about English, Essay writing, and Grammar skills. Tutoring is about finding that spark for students. I try to work with the student to find a way to relate to whatever subject they are struggling with. This means being open and flexible in my styles. When a student sees the light at the end of the tunnel, it is such a rewarding experience. I have found once they can get past their struggles, they become passionate about taking on the next obstacle. This is my goal with each and every student I work with.I am truly passionate about education, and believe today's youth are going to shape our futures. When I have free time you can often find me curled up with a good book (there is no such thing as reading too much), baking, cooking, or out exploring a nature trail.

I grew up in a small town in South Georgia known as Thomasville. I initially was a Math major, climbing all the way to Calculus II with B. However, quickly learned that being in the classroom would not be my career of choice. I changed my major and once I completed my Bachelor's degree in Management at Valdosta State University, I migrated to Jacksonville, Florida to get my career started. Over the course of working different corporate jobs, out of sheer boredom did I decide to pursue my Master's degree in business. Yet and still there was a void. I have always loved Math and the Algebra concepts that haunt so many students are what became engraved in my brain over the years somehow. My business card reads, "Do you hate Algebra? Well, I love it!" And it's not just my ability to teach the subject matter. I have a lovable personality that many seem to gravitate to! I explain problems in their simplest form making grasping the concepts super easy. Outside of tutoring, I am a married mom of 3 who loves writing poetry, reading books and photography.I look forward to getting to know all about you and how I can help you fall in love with Algebra too :)

Hello! I graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Mathematics and a teaching certificate in 2016. And, I completed one year of graduate level studies in Biostatistics, and I am almost done with my master's in social work.I have experience tutoring 3rd grade through college level students-- mostly in mathematics, writing, ACT, and GRE. I also have experience teaching in classrooms around Austin, and was a student teacher in a 7th grade mathematics classroom.I truly love learning new things! The reason I pursued a teaching certificate was so that I could help others find a passion for learning as well!I enjoy the one-on-one environment of tutoring because it allows students to learn in ways that best suite them. So, I am excited for more opportunities to tutor students in a wide range of subjects.

I've always had a teacher or two on my list of heroes and now I would like to give back. I specialize in Spanish and Mathematics. I have taught Chess to kids both privately and at a summer camp and love working with people. I feel the most important part of tutoring is getting the student as involved and excited as possible.Outside of tutoring I love sports, music, movies, writing and just laughing - a lot. I look forward to working with a variety of students and helping them succeed while having fun.

I believe tutoring can be an essential component of anyone's education. Having a personal, one-on-one mentor to guide you through subject material is a factor that can prove to be a difference maker in achieving at the highest level. From my experience in undergrad at Cornell University to the many test-prep classes I have taken, I feel that I am knowledgeable in science subjects and mathematics and have developed strategies to best apply these techniques to standardized tests. I look forward to working with Varsity Tutors to help others the same way I have benefited from tutoring services.

I have found math tutoring very exciting. I have been able to help thousands of struggling students in Community College and also students wanting to enter college, but lacking basic skills. The ability to help such students give me tremendous satisfaction.I have found that most students have a willingness to do well, but lack the understanding as to how to pursue their goals. It is only after winning over these students, and in many cases, even going out of the way to help them, that they are really able to succeed.

The field of education allows me to live my passion of inspiring others to not only acquire a specific skill or merely understand a new concept but to also ignite in their hearts the love of knowledge and learning. I think it's most satisfying, after hard work and practice, to see that both teacher and student were able to cooperatively work together to be successful in reaching their goal. So, if you're looking for someone to be patient, thorough, and willing to go over things once, twice, or even ten times, and you're considering me, then you got the right tutor.
