My first experience with tutoring occurred while helping my family members in multiple math subjects. I then tutored algebra, geometry and physics at my local high school. My love for math and science, specifically chemistry, are driving me to become a chemical engineer. I hope that by showing younger generations real and useful applications of math and science they can become more excited about it. I'm a firm believer in positive attitudes being contagious and my main goal is to eradicate the negative stigma that surrounds math classes. By breaking down classes like algebra, calculus and geometry I can get students to understand simple concepts and then work on compounding these ideas into the "bigger picture" that each of these courses wishes to convey.

I am a graduate of Pepperdine University. I have a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics and a minor in computer science. I really enjoy teaching because I love sharing my knowledge with others and also I enjoy the bonding that a tutor can have with their student. I can always help you with your French and mathematics. French is one of my native languages and I speak and write very fluent french. I love experiential learning, so I would say that this is my favorite part of teaching and I also love sports, yoga andreading a lot! I started kickboxing and that has become one of my favorite activities since. I look forward to being a tutor to all of you!

I am currently studying Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I have had experience tutoring students of all ages through programs at my school and the local library. I also teach private percussion lessons to help students prepare for auditions and concerts. While I tutor many subjects, I especially enjoy helping students with math, physics, computer science, and music. In my free time, I enjoy playing percussion (much to my neighbors dismay) and tinkering with robotics. I also enjoyed scouting as a kid and still love hiking and exploring the outdoors.

I am a graduate of Washington and Lee University. I received my Bachelor of Science with special attainments in Biochemistry. Since graduation, I have traveled extensively, and tutored students of all ages at my alma mater and also my high school and middle school. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about the sciences, math, and communications. In my experience helping struggling students prepare for standardized tests, we always seem to have the most fun prepping for the Critical Reading and Writing portions of the exams, as well as the science section of the ACT. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy SCUBA diving around the world, photographing and writing about my adventures in a travel blog, reading, and football season.

Growing up, math was always my favorite subject. I also found a lot of enjoyment in helping my peers learn the topics through explaining the problems to them, and I was often told that I was good at explaining concepts in a way that made sense.I am currently 21 and a junior in college (Civil Engineering Major with Music Minor) and the subjects I tutor are middle school level maths, Geometry, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, ASVAB Math Knowledge and Arithmetic Reasoning, and Music Theory.

I am a prospective Computer Science major from Austin, Texas, currently in the summer before my senior year at the University of Houston. During my undergraduate career so far I have taken to tutoring as a way to give back to my school's community, and I've decided to expand my horizons and help more people by coming here. While I tutor a range of subjects, I am at my best tutoring Computer Science and Computer Programming, with Math and Science-based subjects not too far behind. I prefer to give my students the big picture concepts at play in whatever field I'm guiding them though, so that they can discover the solutions to their problems and be prepared to use the same concepts again in the future.

Hi, I am a rising sophomore at Cornell University in the College of Engineering. I finished up my freshman year with a 3.7 GPA. I have a passion for math and physics and have been very knowledgable about these subjects since a young age. I am dedicated to making sure people learn the math/physics concepts rather than just memorizing formulas.I have been tutoring students since my junior year of high school. During my senior year of high school, I tutored kids in math and physics almost every day of the week. I love sharing my knowledge of these topics with others and watching them improve. I work hard to make sure the students I work with fully understand the concept at hand. I believe I have a unique way of teaching that really helps students to understand the topic. If the student is not satisfied and still does not understand the material, I will not charge.I am familiar with all math subjects except for linear algebra. I've also gotten a 5 on the AP Calculus BC exam and the AP statistics exam.I've gotten 5's on all AP physics exams (Physics C Mechanics and Electricity & Magnetism, Physics B). I am taking courses in physics at Cornell University.Extra qualifications:Algebra 1I got a 97 on my Algebra 2 and Trigonometry NYS Regents. I also received 800s on the SAT Math section and the SAT Math level 2 subject test. I have gained a very strong understanding of the concepts in algebra as I've been using it as a tool to solve problems throughout my high school and college career.Algebra 2I got a 97 on my Algebra 2 and Trigonometry NYS Regents when I was in 8th grade. I'm now a rising sophomore in college, and have been continuing to learn more and more math over the past 5 years.CalculusI received a 5 on the AP calculus BC exam, and I got an A in multivariable calculus at Cornell University.Differential EquationsI've always been fascinated with differential equations, so during my spring semester at Cornell I took the course. I learned a lot of methods for solving differential equations, as well as the reasons why they're important. I ended up with an A+ in the course, so I believe I'm qualified to tutor in differential equations.Elementary MathAfter taking years of advanced math courses, I've developed a much deeper understanding of all the fundamentals, and I would love to share my understanding with those who are just learning.GeometryI got a 100 on the NYS geometry regents. I continue using geometry as a tool to solve problems.PhysicsI got an 800 on the Math SAT 2 and a 790 on the Physics SAT 2. I also got 5s on the AP Calculus BC exam and the AP physics exams (including the physics C mechanics exam, electricity and magnetism exam, and the physics B exam). I try to teach the student to understand the concepts and to avoid memorization in order to better retain the material.PrecalculusI received a 98 on my precalculus final in my junior year of high school, and I got a 5 on the AP calculus BC exam my senior year of high school. At Cornell University, I received an A in multivariable calculus.SAT MathI received an 800 on the SAT math section and an 800 on the math SAT 2. I took an SAT math course, in which I learned tips and tricks that can help you do better.TrigonometryI got a 97 on my algebra 2 and trig NYS regents. I know many tips that can help students succeed in trigonometry. I have had much experience teaching students these tips, watching their grades rise, and seeing their understanding of the concepts increase.

I am a sophomore at Grove City College majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Though I have no formal experience tutoring, I have helped my fellow students on many occasions. I truly love helping people around me understand difficult concepts. I know that each student learns differently. From experience, I know I am able to alter how I teach dependent on how the student learns. For example, I have a friend who is not a visual learner. I was able to adjust my methods to accommodate her learning style. I have had the opportunity to learn from fantastic teachers. I have been able to learn many helpful tips and tricks to pass on to students. Not only would I be able to adjust my teaching style, I am also very patient and encouraging in my teaching style. There are a lot of difficult subjects that are really hard to understand. It's very easy to want to give up. I would not only teach the subject, but give the student the confidence to continue learning after the tutoring session.I look forward to helping you learn and grow in confidence.
