I currently attend the University of Arizona (honors college) as a Biochemistry and Molecular Cellular Biology double major. I am attending the University of Arizona to obtain my Bachelors of Science degree(s).I have tutored as a volunteer during my Senior year of high school and currently tutor as a part-time job at the University of Arizona. I tutor in Math (up to Geometry) and general Chemistry. I enjoy tutoring in Math because there is only one answer (unless you are working with absolute values) and multiple ways to achieve that answer. So, if one method used to achieve the answer doesn't fit with your learning style there are other methods available.Usually when I tutor, I will ask questions in attempt to understand how much the student knows and where the "holes" in their learning are located. It's important to find these gaps because it enables me to understand what topics should be reviewed or emphasized. I also believe that asking questions encourages the student to think, which helps them make connections. The connections they make will help them in future situations because the students created these connections rather than merely being told information. I do not believe in simply giving out answers. I believe that memorizing answers do not help the student learn and that it actually hurts their learning. In math especially, the topics build on each other and so a strong foundation is necessary to be successful.Aside from tutor-y stuff: I enjoy learning (coding, guitar, random trivial facts, etc), watching tv shows (such as 2 broke girls, House, Rick and Morty, Pretty Little Liars, Stitchers, and Bob's Burgers just to name a few). I also enjoy drawing, painting, reading, sculpting, sleeping, eating and hanging out with friends.

Basics of Python for Beginners Tutor • +21 Subjects
I enjoy helping students feel a sense of achievement that feeling that happens when, after struggling with and working through a challenging question together, the student "gets" it. Their eyes light up, they smile, laugh, put their arms up in a "v" and scream "yes!"... or simply says "yay" in subdued, Monty Python kind-of-way.I have an undergraduate degree in computer graphics and interactive media from Pratt Institute (2003) and a master degree in electronic art from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (2015).My favorite subjects to tutor are highschool math, C#, and python for data science. I find comfort in the structured logic of math and programming. It gives me the illusion that our existance can be understood and measured at times when nothing makese sense and the world feels like it's falling apart.

A summa cum laude graduate of Vanderbilt University with degrees in biochemistry and architecture, I am a current graduate student at Columbia University in the City of New York. Tutoring since high school, I have worked with students ages 11-22 (from middle school through college) in subjects as varied as math, organizational skills, PRAXIS prep, and of course, biochemistry! Additionally, I am well-versed in GRE, SAT, ACT, and AP exam coaching. Outside of the classroom, I have and continue to work in biochemical laboratories, play viola in an orchestra, and cross-country hike. As a student of pedagogy, I adapt to each student's unique needs to deliver hands-on approaches that use real world examples and provide mastery in comprehension. I believe that knowledge is power, but only in the application and advancement of knowledge can one find success.

Education has always been an important part of my life. My father always said one thing that nobody can take away from you is your education. That is why I became an educator. I am currently a senior at Florida Atlantic University. I volunteered at various elementary schools, where I tutored students after school. I also tutored students virtually. All the experience and skills I have accumulated over the years have enabled me to become a superb tutor.

I am certified in the highest level of the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK level 6) and have lived in China for over three years. I have studied Chinese language and culture for the last seven years and have extensive personal experiences and interests in the culture. My approach to teaching Mandarin Chinese is to start with what most Chinese teachers skip over: fundamentals. I emphasize the need to teach the fundamentals of grammar to allow an easier, clearer, and more natural progression in learning language and building new skills. I also believe that culture and language are inseparable and am especially interested in Chinese folk opera, history, and the development of language and culture over time. Since my study has been done in Northern China, my Mandarin accent is very standard and I'm also very knowledgeable about local expressions in addition to standard Mandarin. I am an American who has put a lot of time and effort into studying Chinese so I am extremely patient and understanding with students and know how to explain Mandarin Chinese in a way that could help anyone.

I'm a current MBA/MS candidate at the University of Michigan, as well as a graduate of Wesleyan University with honors. I've tutored both domestic and international students over the last decade. I love working with students who are passionate about where they want to go and what they want to do in life.I'm here to understand your GRE goals, and help you navigate the process to getting there. Not everyone has, or needs to have the same goals, so I'll work with you to personalize your study plan. I look forward to helping you achieve those goals!I have a combined 334 overall score, good for 99th percentile of test takers. Moreover, while the verbal portion comes naturally to me, I had to work my way up from an initially average quantitative score to the score mentioned above. That means I know what it's like to struggle with math, and achieve significant improvement over time. I'll help you disassemble both the quantitative and verbal sections, understand your strengths and weaknesses, and build towards your desired score.Whether you're looking for a couple hours of tutoring, or a customized study plan for the next few months, I hope you'll reach out to chat!
