I am a current senior at Baylor University majoring in Neuroscience and currently on the pre-med pathway. I have tutored students and student-athletes for the last three years on various topics including algebra, calculus, psychology, genetics, and other high-level college courses.

I am currently finishing my Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience at the University of Southern California and will continue onto medical school in the fall of 2015 at USC. I have also completed a portion of my studies at the University of Oxford in the UK. I graduated from Central Michigan University with a MSA in general administration. My bachelors degree is in HRA/MGT. I have an associates degree in math, chemistry and biology. I taught math and science in the public and private school sectors for over 20 years grades 6-12. Before I became a teacher I worked in scientific research for a bio-science company for 20 years. I believe every student can learn and excel in any educational endeavor they choose. As a teacher I have accustomed myself to the many learning styles and diversity of the modern classroom. I retired from classroom teaching in 2015. However, I have been teaching part-time and full-time since my retirement. I love what I do and I fully enjoy the opportunity help students be successful. Having two consecutive careers in science and education allows me to help students bridge the gap between theory and practice. Out of the classroom I enjoy playing tennis, reading, walking, exercising and travel.

Over the course of my studies, I have taught more than 25 college-level courses to students with a wide variety of backgrounds in a number of subjects. This means that I have written exams, graded exams, published papers, presented papers, and designed entire curricula. My methods are informed by my research background in the problem-solving literature, my familiarity with recent developments in cognitive sociology, and my training as an expert chess player and coach. Using these methods, I have assisted hundreds of students improve their writing and critical thinking skills. But, those achievements are not as important as what I can do to help you.
