I am originally from a small town in upstate New York. I attended Port Jervis High School, where I received the honor of being named valedictorian and discovered just how much I value education. I moved to New York City for college when I attended Fordham University at Rose Hill in the Bronx. I pursued a double major in English and French Language and Literature, as well as a double minor in Comparative Literature and Psychology. I was blessed with the opportunity to follow my passions through study abroad programs in both London and Paris. I absolutely love to travel and certainly miss my exciting European adventures! While home in the Bronx, my most meaningful volunteer experiences were working in a Hunts Point preschool. Through my work with young children and early literacy, I developed a love for teaching. I expanded my volunteer work in education with homework help for high school students and English tutoring for college freshmen. Upon graduation from Fordham, I joined the New York City Teaching Fellowship program and began my journey to teacher certification in Special Education and English, grades 7-12. I currently work as a 10th and 11th grade teacher at a school in Queens, where I teach French, English, and U.S. History. Studying and teaching French, I learned about the frustration students feel when struggling to understand something that might literally or figuratively seem to be in another language. I carry this understanding, lots of patience, and a passion for language into my tutoring sessions. Outside of school, I love to read, have movie nights, see as many Broadway shows as possible, and travel all over NYC and NYS seeing my lovely family and friends.

I am currently in my fourth year of PhD study at Saint Louis University. I have been working in experimental psychology for the past 7 years and should finish with my PhD in experimental social psychology in 2015. Along the way I have picked up ample experience in Academic Writing, Research Methodology, and Statistics. As I am now an adjunct professor teaching Psychology classes, I feel I should offer my services to tutor students whenever possible. Though Psychology and Statistics are the topics that I am most familiar with teaching, I also enjoy tutoring Writing and Mathematics due to my background and education. My tutoring style is dynamic and I strive to adapt my methods to those which work best for the student. I tend to be hands on and extremely focused on helping my students learn and master the material. In my spare time, I play video games, watch anime, collect dolls and sculpt. I find art to be a very important stress reliever as a graduate student.

I graduated from WashU in 2013, with a major in Environmental Policy.Although I'm happy to tutor most subjects, my strongest suit is writing. I read my friends' papers all the time - and really enjoy doing it! I can read anything from college essays, creative writing, or help you with the SAT writing/reading sections. I am also happy to help you brainstorm and talk through ideas on papers you haven't yet started. In my free time, I love reading, writing, cooking, hiking (or really, doing almost anything outside), and spending time with friends.

I recently graduated summa cum laude from Augsburg College with a bachelors degree in Sociology and a minor concentration in Spanish. Now I am happily employed at Carleton College in Northfield as an evening supervisor in the library I love it! My plan is to eventually go on to get my Ph.D. in Sociology.Helping others learn brings me great joy, and Ive had the privilege of teaching people from a variety of ages and backgrounds. I was a supplemental instructor for the Statistical Analysis course at Augsburg College and also served as a tutor through the Academic Skills Office there. I have tutored high schoolers at the MN Internship Center and worked with students of all ages from elementary schoolers to adults at the non-profit program Safe Place: Homework Help. A particular highlight of mine is the summer I spent teaching English to adults as a certified ESL assistant at the International Education Center in downtown Minneapolis. All these experiences have helped me develop a variety of strategies to adapt to different learners needs and learning styles. I tutor a wide range of subjects, such as ACT prep, math, writing, Spanish, and Latin. Whether the math section of the ACT is making you nervous or you need some extra help keeping up in Spanish, I am confident that together, well figure out how to meet your current academic goals and develop the skills you need to face future challenges.Outside academia, I love to read I work in a library, after all! Im also an avid journaler. I enjoy learning languages in addition to Spanish and Latin, Im currently working on French. Im always listening to music, particularly Broadway musicals. And, finally, Im a huge Harry Potter fan. I get compared to Hermione Granger all the time, and thats just fine with me!

I graduated from the University of South Florida with a BA in Psychology. Aside from my love of psychology, I am also a lover of writing and literature. I have taken many writing and literature courses that not only fortified my passion for the English language but also inspired me to want to help others who may see English and literature as subjects of anxiety rather than subjects of enjoyment. In high school, I was a volunteer tutor in the Writing Center where I would help students with their English assignments, and throughout college, I participated in writing workshops with my peers. I believe that with patience, dedication, and positive reinforcement, every student can reach their full potential. In my spare time, I enjoy visiting nature parks, going to art museums, and playing guitar.

I am a driven, positive, affirming tutor who is happy to help students in any way he can. I graduated magna cum laude from Dartmouth College in 2020, and I obtained my Master's in Political Science from the University of Toronto in 2022.In 2016, I received an SAT score of 1550. That year, I also received a 5 on my AP exams in Calculus AB, English Language, U.S. History, and U.S. Government.I am happy to tutor students in mathematics, English, and social sciences (e.g., history, government). I especially enjoy tutoring pre-algebra and algebra.I believe in a practice-based approach in which I take students step-by-step through the concepts at hand. After practicing together with my guidance, the student will soon be able to apply what they have learned on their own.

I would love to share all that I have learned from countless hours spent filling out admissions applications, financial aid paperwork, and various scholarships during the 10 years I have spent as a student in higher education. Having spent the last 3 years completing 90 credit hours of clinical education and over 5,300 hours of clinical experience, I believe my passion for medicine in all health-care levels will engage pre-health professional students and create a collaborative relationship allowing me to help students realize, plan, and actualize their goals. It is my hope that my academic, personal, and professional experience will allow me help you moving forward.

As a recent grad from the University of California, Santa Barbara, I am passionate about education, personal growth, and lofty goals. My BA in History has left me well-versed in the topics of European and United States history, with a special fondness for the British Empire, World War I and II, and the Cold War. My rigorous studies also ensured that I became confident and well studied in geography, essay and research writing, and analysis of primary and secondary sources. History is my first love, but I plan to continue my studies in the direction of an Earth Science for my Masters in several years. After completing the extremely competitive Southwestern Advantage internship this past summer, during which I worked 80 hours a week selling educational aids and study guides to families, I have been left with a desire to continue positively impacting young people through education.

When I was young, I struggled with school. I was more focused on my performance on the sports field than I was on my performance in the classroom. My love of learning came only after I spent several summers being tutored by fantastic teachers who helped me develop connections to the material in a way that was both relatable and fun. I learned the value of great educators those summers, and I came to appreciate the importance of strong communication between the student and educator.I received my Bachelor of Arts degrees in Government and Spanish from Franklin & Marshall College in Pennsylvania and went on to receive a Master of Arts degree in Latin American Studies, with a concentration in inter-American Affairs, from the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. Before moving to South Florida, I spent seven years in Washington, D.C. working in international affairs, as well as in government advocacy and public policy. I look forward to helping you with Spanish Language and Literature, History and Government, or Writing and English Language. When I'm not tutoring, I enjoy playing sports, staying active, and finding fun, new recipes to cook.My goal as a tutor is not only to help you understand the material, but also to help you develop your own unique learning tools to benefit your long-term educational growth.
