I am recent graduate of Columbia University in New York (a dual major in Physics and English). I have been tutoring for a little over two years, with a focus on the ACT and SAT. I have experience with Catalyst tutoring as well as Varsity, which has given me experience with more methods for approaching both tests. I know both the ACT and the SAT inside and out. I can both help students quickly improve their test scores through simple test-taking tricks, but I can also help them develop their abilities and strengthen their conceptual grasp of a more difficult field. I find I get the strongest improvement in the reading and math sections. For STEM subjects specifically, my dual major allows me to communicate math ideas better than most other tutors. Since then, I have edited a literary journal, managed a research center, and published several peer-reviewed articles on American autobiography, fiction, and poetry.
