Welcome to my tutoring page! My name is Samarth, and I am a mechanical engineering student at the esteemed University of Texas at Austin, with an expected graduation in 2026. I am thrilled to have this opportunity to share my passion for teaching with students of all ages.Throughout my journey, I have discovered an immense joy in teaching kids ranging from 3rd to 12th grade. I have had the privilege of instructing diverse groups of students, both in large-format classes through ScioVirtual and WeTeach3D, as well as in one-on-one settings. Whether it's a lively 50-person Zoom lesson or an engaging in-person session, I adapt my teaching style to suit the needs of each student. One of my greatest strengths lies in my ability to connect with children of various age groups. I understand that younger learners thrive on enthusiasm and energy, and I strive to incorporate games and fun activities to convey complex topics in an enjoyable way. On the other hand, older students appreciate being treated as mature individuals, and I foster in-depth discussions that encourage critical thinking and exploration. When I'm not teaching or tutoring, I find solace in spending quality time with my family. Additionally, I have a deep love for playing tennis, delving into captivating books, and cherishing moments with my friends. I am also actively involved in research within a cardiac signal monitoring lab, where we develop e-tattoos to detect early onset heart disease. My passion for creation extends beyond academics, as I enjoy making things and sharing playful moments with my beloved goldendoodle.I am dedicated to nurturing a positive and engaging learning environment where students can flourish academically and personally. My goal is to inspire curiosity, ignite a love for learning, and instill the confidence necessary for success. I am excited to embark on this educational journey together and make a meaningful impact on your child's academic growth.Thank you for considering me as your tutor, and I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and your child!

My favorite word is "why." And why is that, you may ask? Well, I am subject to a never-ending flow of knowledge because I perpetually wonder why. The search for answers to any question beginning with "why" has taught me everything I know -- and put me in a position to disseminate my knowledge to other people. Tutoring is the best possible way for me to do that.

Since I began tutoring 8 years at the beginning of high school, I had not realized that a job that I had initially taken to help pay for the luxuries that my parents could not afford would become one of the brightest and meaningful opportunities I would ever be a part of. At Kumon, I worked with hundreds of students who were challenged with mastering the subjects they were expected to learn and challenged with material they were yet to know; it was both difficult and satisfying to see students struggling with a subject develop over time. Most of the jobs I have worked since then have allowed me to watch kids from elementary to high school grow over the course of years, and I have done my best to make sure they develop a capacity and enjoyment of learning. Even as a graduate of chemistry, I continue to tutor because it is one of, if not the most, impactful way to positively affect the younger generation, and I am glad to be a part of their growth,

Hey there! I am a programmer, writer, computer technician, and poet originally from Ghana, West Africa. I'm in my second year of college and pursuing a BS in Computer Science at the City College of New York. I have taken numerous college classes since high school such as Calculus, European History, and Physics. Additionally, I have completed a Data Strucutres and Programming course with a grade in the A range. I have been able to excel in these courses, by using online study tools such as videos and developing effective routines. I understand how frustrating it feels to spend so much time struggling to learn a topic and I also know how applying the right strategies to learning can make all the difference. For example, strategies such as close question analyzation can help students to mentally digest complex problems and help them assess the tools they can use to solve them.I look forward to helping all students to achieve more than they imagined and to develop the cognitive skills needed to succeed in the face of new challenges. Since my second year in high school, I have always searched out for opportunities to help others succeed in their courses. In my second year, I joined a club that assisted middle school students in preparing for their state exams. By means of persistence and effective studying techniques and continual practice, I assisted students to successfully complete both their Math and English state exams. Most recently, in 2019, I participated in a STEM summer program where I assisted middle school students to apply basic engineering principles such as prototyping to build various cardboard structures powered by Arduino circuit boards. I tirelessly worked to help all of them complete their projects and patiently worked with the needs of each student Furthermore, I assisted them in improving their critical thinking and problem-solving skills in order to effectively analyze problems and develop solutions to problems that they would encounter. I encouraged them to use the plethora of resources that are on the Internet to increase their knowledge. All these tactics enabled all 15 students I worked with to successfully demo their final projects.Currently, I am utilizing online resources to communicate with and assist students in math subjects such as Algebra and Calculus in programming languages such as C++ and even Middle School subjects. The students I work with have been able to successfully complete homework assignments and prepare for exams. I give each student an opportunity to assess their own knowledge first and then assist them, by means of questions and reasoning, to improve and master their coursework and gain skills. Helping students to successfully master concepts in their courses is certainly my top priority. I will work vigorously and effectively to help the students I tutor to achieve their highest However, this is not my only goal. I want to empower all my students to use all the tools and resources that are at their disposal to excel in whatever endeavor they take on. For example, when I work with a student on a problem I will not only help them understand and solve the problem at hand but I will teach them the techniques and strategies to solve similar problems, strategies such as problem deconstruction and examination. Truly, I want my students not only to reach for the stars but to get there and strive even farther.

I have received both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. I currently work as a mechanical engineer in Reston, VA where I have taken what I learned in school and applied it to my everyday work activities. As a part time job, I have tutored math for family, friends, high school students, and college students. With my work experience I can help show students the importance of math equations and principles. In addition, I understand that each student has a different way of learning, and that is why I am very patient and thorough in my teaching methods. My favorite part of tutoring is the rewarding feeling of helping someone answer a problem correctly on their own.

Hello, my name is Grace and I am recent graduate from Western Washington University with a BA in mathematics and minor in dance and economics. Ever since I was young, I have loved math. I think it is so fun how many things that math is found in and how it can applied to our everyday lives. I also think it is quite beautiful how creative one can be with math and how there are so many different paths to the answer. Through tutoring I am constantly striving to find new ways to excite others about the beauty of math. I love tutoring because I can be one on one with a student and really individualize my teaching to what each person needs.

I am currently enrolled at Cornell University where I will be a sophomore in the fall. I am pursuing a double major in Mathematics and Economics, which I hope to use to go into finance. I have been working as a tutor since the 10th grade and have since taught a wide array of subjects ranging from middle school English to Mathematics to AP Physics. I have always enjoyed working with students and there are few experiences more rewarding than getting a child over his or her fear of a subject that they find difficult. It was not easy, but I have even managed to convince people that math is not some bizarre form of torture. It can even be fun. I promise! As a tutor my primary goal is not to teach towards specific problems. Rather, it is to establish strong foundations and to teach methods to figure out how to apply those fundamentals to any problem the student might encounter. I try to really drive home, on a conceptual level, why things are done the way that they are. Over the course of my tutoring career I have found this approach to be far more effective in the long run. If you give a students a robust base of knowledge and the tools to build off of it, you empower them to learn new topics by themselves, tackle test questions that they haven't seen before, and leave them with broadly applicable skills that will help them long after their class is finished.I am involved in multiple finance clubs at Cornell and I usually spend my free time there practicing my moves with the Thai Boxing Club and going to see movies with friends. At home, if I'm not working, odds are that I'm cooking, playing chess, or spending a day at the beach.

I am a graduate of Western Connecticut State University, currently working towards a Dental Doctorate degree at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. I took a gap year before starting dental school. During this time, I became a 7th-grade teacher; this experience shaped my understanding of the current educational needs in private and public institutions. Many children needed one-to-one tutoring, which I could not provide as a teacher. I enjoy teaching in a classroom, but I found that my strengths lie in one-to-one interaction. It is easy for students to fall behind, especially with the increasing classroom size. A lot of learning happens outside of school, and without guidance, this learning is often not effective. My goal is to bridge this gap, so no child is left behind because I strive to help my students reach the necessary milestones to ensure they become the best learners they could be.

I am currently a senior at the City College of New York completing a dual degree in mathematics and English with an emphasis in creative writing. I am equally passionate about both subjects and greatly enjoy stimulating others' interest in them through education. As a tutor, I do so by emphasizing the importance of understanding the greater context of the subject into which the specific skills to be learned fit. I find this method to be successful in easing the learning process, particularly in mathematics, as it helps students both to see how the various topics they are learning fit together and to retain the knowledge in the long term. As an added benefit, it also helps to fill any gaps in their education from previous years and improves their ability to quickly absorb new topics in the future. When I am not tutoring or attending class, I spend most of my time reading or writing. I have a large portfolio of short stories, am working on my first novel, and have begun working with professors at school to start getting my work published. I also travel and spend as much time in the outdoors as possible. I have visited almost all fifty states, spent the previous summer hiking in the Indian Himalayas, and am planning a trip to Iceland for this upcoming August.
