It is my goal to inspire and help you succeed in reaching your goals. I want any student that I work with to feel both competent and prepared for whatever subject they may be facing. In addition, I have been working as a tutor since high school and plan to continue doing so as I continue through college. It would be an honor to assist you in your academic endeavors. I have had success with all the students I have worked with so far, and hope to do the same with you.

I have Master and Bachelor degree in applied physics. I have been teaching and tutoring since 2004. I have taught and tutored physics and math in all level from high school to university' students. I teach and tutor at the same time at one of best community colleges in the nation. I love this job, because as a instructor I do know all materials and syllabuses that are required to master the course, and as a tutor I do know very well students' weaknesses about the subject that they study. Mix experience of teaching and tutoring in the college and university has improved my teaching style. I always try to let breakdown the problem for student to be able to understand the each step' concept first and then help them through each step. Since my major is applied physics I always try to explain the application of each concept that students learn. This tool has helped my students to not only learn the concept but also apply it in their real life.

I graduated with a BS in Applied Mathematics from SUNY Polytechnic Institute (you may not know where or what that is, but that's ok). In addition, I also received an academic minor in Computer Information Science. Ever since I was a young kid, I always enjoyed helping others out wherever I could. Even today, I still get joy when an opportunity arises. The main topics I enjoy teaching is early stage math as well as Minecraft. I believe in working with students to help build their understanding of a topic so that their confidence increases overtime. In addition to academic work, I also enjoy playing Minecraft (Java edition) and participating in sporting events.

I am a graduate of Pomona College. In 2012, I received my Bachelor of Arts with a major in Politics. Since graduation, I have worked in both public and private schools as an instructional assistant. My job responsibilities included tutoring students in the following subjects: Pre-Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, AP Calculus, English/Language Arts, Writing, Social Studies, U.S. Government, Biology, and Social Studies. Of the many subjects I have helped my students with, subjects involving math or politics have been my favorite, because both challenge me to think creatively and critically. My tutoring philosophy is to help create independent and critical thinkers. My style reflects this style: The ultimate goal in every tutoring session is NOT to get the right answers, but to understand the concepts being taught and to be able to apply that understanding to a variety of situations. Outside of working with students, I enjoy reading and running.

My tutoring career started while I was still attending Western Illinois University in pursuit of my bachelor's degree in physics. I would tutor in the physics tutoring center in the main sciences building. Students would come in without appointments, and we would accept any and all students who needed help. I was there for two years, my junior and senior year before I left after receiving my degree. During my school years, I would also assist in the physics and chemistry demonstration shows that we put on every year. Students from the local middle school and high school would attend, and fellow students and I would perform a variety of educational demonstrations. As you might guess, the subjects I feel most confident in tutoring would be physics and math. However, I don't believe that to be the limit of my scope. I've always had an interest in the other sciences, things like biology and chemistry, and I've had ten years of piano lessons so basic music theory and education are within my range as well. When I'm not tutoring, I like to play video games online with my friends, a few songs on the piano, and even meet up to play the occasional table top game like Dungeons and Dragons. I study chess rigorously, and hope to one day be a chess tutor as well. Picking the right tutor is important, but can be a tad tricky. A tutor is best served as both an educational guide and a friend. Because of the one on one nature, it's important that the tutor is someone you can look up to and trust as well as feel connected with. To me, a tutor's job is not to make the student jump through more and more hoops in the interest of perfection. Rather, they are there to foster curiosity, a willingness to learn from mistakes, and improve a student's level of confidence in a subject matter. A true master is an eternal student.

I recently graduated from Cornell University where I majored in Environmental Engineering. Because of my acedemic background, my tutoring strenghs are in math and science. I began tutoring in high school as president of the Math Honors Society and a member of the science honors society. In college, I continued to teach peers through Cornell Outdoor Education.I believe any student can suceed in the math and sciences regardless of gender or natural ability. Through repition, visulaization, and step by step understanding, any problem can be conquered. My goal is to help each individual over the initial, reaction of "I can't do this" to "I can figure this out." I hope to cultivate confidence and understanding in your child regardless of the topics they struggle with.

Im currently an undergraduate bioengineering student at UIC minoring in economics and set to begin graduate work next fall. Before transferring to UIC I attended Augustana College and pursued degrees in physics and environmental studies. I hold excellent interpersonal and math skills and am good at explaining as well as doing math problems which in my opinion is somewhat of a rarity among science and math teachers. Throughout my youth I coached a swim team and have always gained an immense satisfaction from helping others. Tutoring is a win-win situation for both parties. The student becomes fluent and develops interest in a subject they have struggled with in the past and I gain from helping them improve and succeed. I like to make learning fun and strive to make the information relatable to my students. This way we can become excited about the subjects which makes learning that much easier. Mostly I am interested in tutoring math and math-related subjects including economics. Throughout sessions I will always try to convey exactly how important it is to learn the information, because like it or not, even if the student is not interested in learning, I want to convey that in life we often are forced into tasks that are not always enjoyable. Whats important is to persevere and understand that there is no other option but to complete the task or learn the material and we can only gain from giving it our best effort. During free time I enjoy reading The Economist magazine, playing table tennis and badminton, and eating Thai food. Thank you for your time.

As the youngest of three boys, being raised by a Single Mom puts a certain perspective on the world. We resided in Arlington, an area within Jacksonville, FL, which at the time had the highest violent crime rate in the state. Our normal was quite different from others. Not just socioeconomically, but in a broader more systemic sense. Our middle brother, Jeremy, is considered the "Lucky" one: he is a tattoo artist. Born with a natural gift that lifted him from our neighborhood to a better life. The oldest, Jason, is a chef. A learned craft that he sacrificed many years in perfecting.Every parents dream is for their child to succeed in life. I am quite sure our mother hoped for the same. A more realistic aspiration was for us to simply come home safely from school and not be a footnote on the evening news. This was our neighborhood, a place in constant chaos. Fortunately, our mother's perseverance and adaptability got us away from the neighborhood. I learned from a very young age, that I wanted more than this life, I wanted better for myself. In the beginning sports were my tool to escape poverty. I earned a scholarship to Jacksonville University as a Quarterback/Pitcher. College wasn't without its struggle: a shoulder repair as a freshman nearly overtook my career, but focus and determination allowed me to continue to play and succeed, earning the first championship in Jacksonville University football history. I continued to pursue sports, professionally, but stopped once I learned I would be a father to my son, Alexander. He is currently five and starting school. I remember learning the news of Alexander's impending arrival and thinking "I have five to six years to get a career together, to support my family". I immediately gave up the tool that took me away from the neighborhood, enrolled in Barry University; and I received my MSc in Biomedical Sciences sixteen months later, while raising my son.All opportunities are met with expectations and their corresponding adjustments, and AUC was no exception. The key difference that set me apart from many of my colleagues was family: I am a father first. Family is extremely valuable to me, it's the one thing we felt could not be taken away from us. Family is a constant motivator that helps drive us to a greater future. Our mother and our son, representations of the past and future, are powerful reminders of where we have came from and where we intend to go.My 3rd year of medical school was spent abroad in the UK. My time in the UK molded more than my medical knowledge, it shaped my view on the role of medicine in our society. There I was introduced to the field of Interventional Radiology. The challenge of interpreting scans combined with performing elegant procedures, all while treating the patient from beginning to end was an approach to medicine that I desired."The definition of an educated person is the realization of how ignorant one is to the world." Socrates' advocacy for humble learning is an ideology for us all to continue into the future. We can have a new normal. I look forward to meeting you.
