I am a graduate of the University of Alaska Anchorage and Western Governors University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary & Special Education. I currently work as a Special Education teacher, but I also had previously worked as a substitute teacher, where I taught students ranging from Kindergarten thru 12th grade. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, Literature, and Math. In my experience helping struggling students prepare for Standardized Tests, we always have the most fun preparing for the Critical Reading and Writing portions of the exams. I love to learn about linguistics and the nuances of foreign languages. I am currently studying French, though I have studied Latin and Italian in the past. I have a straight-forward teaching philosophy which applies to each student as an individual learner. This helps to identify and clarify misunderstandings in the process rather than stumbling over information. I am able to teach in English and Writing, as well as across most maths and sciences, including Organic/Inorganic Chemistry, Biology, Statistics, Algebra, and Calculus.
