I am a graduate of Loyola University of New Orleans and a past member of Toastmasters International for 20 years. As founder and 1st president of my Toastmaster's club, I have served as mentor to over 75 students. My undergraduate and graduate education in Music Therapy has enabled me to work with students of all ages and abilities attending Elementary, High School and College. My Master's Music Therapy Curriculum focused on educational and therapeutic outreach for students who have been described as "Difficult to reach Youth". They have not experienced the self-esteem "boosters" and "successful Test Scores" to attend universities like "Loyola University, Yale University, Xavier University, or Harvard University"; however, so many of these students can find success in their personal and professional lives when given the opportunity to excel toward important educational goals. After teaching all subjects (Elementary and Secondary) in Louisiana, California, Texas, and Belize, I have witnessed students' unique moments of educational success that enables them to gain self-confidence, self-assurance, and self-esteem. These special moments have literally changed the trajectory of many students' lives. Also, my graduate and undergraduate work at Loyola enabled me to create new technology for children (and adults) with disabilities to read and perform advanced level professional music. Our Blind Music Performing Group in Las Vegas has performed the National Anthem at local Professional Sports Venues, City Council Meetings, and Community Celebrations. My degree in Music Therapy has provided me with an amazing ability to work with students ranging from "Advanced to Special Education". Overall, I have witnessed the light that shines so brightly in students when they realize their own "Unique Abilities" . THIS MOMENT IS ALWAYS "REMARKABLE". I remain thankful for the opportunity to witness this moment in all my students' lives.

Finishing in the cum laude at Stephen F. Austin High School, I now attend the University of Houston. I'm currently in my second year there, working towards a computer science degree with a possibility of a minor in either business or education. Most of my tutoring experienced comes from being tutored myself, so I hope to improve on the ways that were brought onto me and extending other ways forward. I tutor computer science and mathematics as they are required for my degree, thus I must excel at them. My tutoring style is hands on with a emphasis on explaining things in a new way if an older way did not help. Outside of education, I enjoy playing video games and exercising.

In my journey as an English literature student, I am striving to become a college professor of English. As part of that goal, I want to help students from all backgrounds get a quality education and not feel judged. In my public school education, I struggled myself with vision issues, which caused my education to dwindle, but it took one amazing teacher to ensure I found my way again. I hope to be the same for students.I received my bachelor's of arts from the University of Central Florida in English with Creative Writing. This degree qualifies me to tutor and teach grammar, spelling, writing, creative writing, and anything English related. On top on my bachelor's, I obtained my master's degree at the University of Alabama for English Literature in 2023. Currently, I am a PhD candidate in Literature at the University of Texas-Dallas and a Rhetoric and Composition Instructor.Overall, I am a tutor looking to mentor students to their highest potential. All students need to be successful is someone to believe in them and I promise I always will believe in each and every student.

I am currently working towards my Masters of Arts degree in Literary and Cultural Studies at Carnegie Mellon University. Some of my current interests are postcolonial studies, literary journalism, and memoir writing. Before attending Carnegie Mellon University, I graduated from Allegheny College where I received my Bachelor of Arts in English Literature. At Allegheny College I primarily focused on Gothic and Victorian literature, postcolonial theory, representations of animals and the environment in literature, and poetry composition. In addition to my educational experience at Allegheny College, I also had the wonderful opportunity to collaborate with one of my professors on a co-authored paper titled "Shakespeare's Starlings" which will be available in this November's edition of "Environmental Humanities"! I tutor literature-related subjects ranging from High School English to College Essay Writing, as I am most passionate about this wonderful field, and eager to use my academic experiences to help students connect and engage with meaningful texts in a more enriching manner than is typically fostered by a traditional classroom setting, where ample time to discuss the richness of cultural works is so often cut short. Additionally, I love helping students develop thoughtful and original analyses of various literary works, because working through analytical and cultural problems improves critical thinking skills, encourages creativity, and promotes the ability to communicate effectively both verbally, and in a written format. Finally, I am deeply committed to helping students in any field excel at essay writing! I absolutely love editing papers, and I take a very hands-on approach in doing so by encouraging students to read their papers aloud with me in order to mutually identify and discuss any grammatical or logistical errors. It is very important to me that students leave a tutoring session understanding why they are correcting errors, not just how to, so that they fully grasp how to preemptively identify similar problems in future papers that they compose. I have seen considerable success using this technique, and most people I've worked with have advanced their writing by two letter grades after working with me three to four times. While I am most passionate about tutoring students working on essays in the fields of English and Literature, I have written in a wide variety of styles including: book reviews, computer science write-ups, data stories, literary journalism pieces, historiographical essays, memoir pieces, research proposals, personal statements, poetry, philosophy essays, satire, science reports, and more! Essay writing can be fun, engaging, and rewarding when approached in the right way, and I strive to bring the enthusiasm and love I have for this essential skill to every tutoring session I conduct.
