I am a recent graduate from the University of Central Florida with a master's in economics, a bachelor's in mathematics and a bachelor's in economics. My goal is to help students achieve their class goals in my free time.I started tutoring back in 2017 when I got a job tutoring economics with Valencia College. After a year of tutoring I left to pursue internship opportunities, but found myself back in the tutoring field when I started my master's degree. Ever since, I've learned that I love helping students and seeing that light bulb moment in their eyes is a great feeling. Having two full years of tutoring experience I've learned the different ways that helps students learn and look forward to learning even more ways to help.While I enjoy tutoring economics the most, I have experience tutoring math as well as statistics. I have tutored students at the college level in Physics, Cell Biology, Organic Chemistry, General Chemistry, Psychology, European History, Medieval History, Calculus, Statistics, Creative Writing, American Literature, and Literacy. Furthermore, I have experience working with local school districts providing home instruction to students who were not able to attend school in person. Students I have worked with have shown evidence of learning through formal and informal assessments, and have been successful in passing courses with high marks. Although the students I work with have been successful, that is no guarantee of success. I have always been very fond of children. I love teaching and interacting with them because it makes me happy to foster curiosity and interest in subjects that may be considered traditionally boring. I'm in college right now and I'm studying to be a lawyer. I would love to bring my skills and knowledge to the the table! Upon graduating, I became certified to teach both elementary education (grades 1-6) and English Language Arts (grades 5-9) in the state of Missouri. I have spent the past two years teaching seventh grade reading and writing, and I have loved every minute of it! Not only do I love helping my students understand new concepts in my subject areas, but I also really enjoy sharing literature, both classics and new fiction, with them in hopes it will foster a love of reading. I believe in the power of literature to spark critical thinking and help students make meaningful connections to their lives and the lives of others. It may come as no surprise that one of my chief hobbies is reading; I try to read fifty new novels every year, many of which I can then recommend to my students!
