Some details about me: I have just recently graduated from college with a Bachelor of Science in Physics and am currently waiting to start my Ph.D. program in Physics; I would like to become a professor one day in potentially any subject; and meeting new people is one of my favorite things to do! In college, I worked part-time as a Supplemental Instruction Leader, mastering facilitation, leadership, and social skills to help with the development of study habits and time management for students taking a course on Differential Equations & Laplace Transforms in which I was the only SI Leader for that course and had to help over 650 students. During the 2016-2017 academic year, I was also a Community Adviser, developing a community of about 50 residents, facilitating discussions of appreciating and understanding human differences and diversity, overseeing residents grow in leadership roles, leading an academic initiative program, and undertaking administrative tasks in a residential community. I have been an educator for over 8 years and my areas of specialization are English, Literature, U.S. History, and Drama. My teaching background primarily involves working with elementary school age children, but I have also conducted workshops for middle schoolers and taught adult learners. I have been a camp counselor for five- and six-year olds, supervised an after school program for first and second graders, prepped kids for a Spelling Bee, directed a drama club for high school students, and conducted acting workshops. At Cornell University, I obtained my BS in Industrial and Labor Relations at the ILR School (also known as the I Love to Read School) with a major in ILR and a minor in Education. As an Education minor, I gained experience working with students with diverse learning styles doing fieldwork as a teacher in the Ithaca area. I was also an enthusiastic member of a sketch comedy group and have acted in films. My passions are voice acting, reading, and teaching young students to master their work so they gain confidence and pride in their abilities. After receiving an undergraduate degree in English, I went on to get a Master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language. This opened the door to many opportunities to teach overseas in international/American schools. I've taught in Taiwan, China, Belarus, and Kyrgyzstan as well as schools in the Chicago area. I not only have a lot of experience in helping non-native English students improve their language skills, but I have also worked for over 10 years helping Middle School and High School students become more competent, clear writers and more efficient readers. I am passionate about assisting students develop their potential to communicate well. Through extensive interaction with people from many cultural and racial backgrounds, I believe I can connect with a wide variety of learners, motivating them to become the best they can possibly be.

Before relocating to Georgia I was in Vietnam for two years and Colorado for two years.With my Masters in Education and a minor in Athletic Coaching I have gathered many tools and strategies for teaching children with a variety of learning styles.
