I am a humorist, so please don't take my stern photo too seriously!I love mathematics, logic, probability, machine learning, decision making, and non-empirical theories of everything... But that should not intimidate you! I have extensive experience teaching Undergraduates in a variety of subject areas (by the time you read this, I will probably be again teaching in person courses at a University concurrently). Before I get too deep into me... I expect to focus my efforts on general college level mathematics, probability/statistics/decision making (SOA/CAS P Exam qualified), computer science, and data science/machine learning/AI (not robotics other than decision making). If you are studying at a Freshman/Sophomore Undergraduate level or preparing for College, I can meet you at your level at anything I am listed as qualified for. Upperclassmen should ask and the answer will be yes in some areas and no in others! But ask!Personally, I have a BA in Computer Science (Honors) and an MSci in Computational Finance (Honors), areas in which I have published in Academic journals. This prepared me for most recently teaching College Engineering Mathematics (Calculus, Linear Algebra) at a German University (I speak German and can teach in German or Spanish, but I am American and English is my first language). As indicated, I am suited to teach any of a variety of Computer Science related topics as well. (Ask!)I previously received a BA/MA in Philosophy, from prestigious programs, where I concentrated on Mathematical Logic and (what is now considered) Machine Learning. In these programs, I taught Logic, Probability, Inference, and English Composition. This time also infected me with a keen interest in theoretical foundations for Computer Science, Data Science, and Mathematics/Logic.Again, I encourage you to ask me whether I can help you with a topic. In general, I often can't meet a students needs when they are very technical-topic specific or otherwise very specialized mathematical areas... If you need a tutor for the Go programming language, you can probably find somebody, but I am not that person (I do everything I can in Python and its libraries, but know Java/C++/SQL and others, e.g. a bit of Prolog, R/SAS. I also web-scraped the World Factbook to build geo.atheoryof.us)... but just ask and I will help you find your way!

Years ago, in a galaxy far, far away, I studied math at the University of Virginia. I was a transfer student, as I started my education in the community college system. I ultimately got my BA in Mathematics with a minor in Education. My plan was to finish college and go immediately into teaching high school math. As it turned out, that didn't happen. I got side-tracked and, enjoying math so much, I stuck around UVA for another two years and earned a MS in Math. I then got drafted by the NSA and did cyptopgraphy for a few years. Now I'm back on (the education) track. I've been teaching math and statistics at ITT-Tech for a few years and, so far, I've taught two sections of college algebra at El Camino Community College. I've also been tutoring math since high school. When I attended Central Virginia Community College, I worked in the math lab, administering tests and tutoring fellow students. I prefer to tutor algebra, statistics, or calculus, but any level of math is fine as well.

As a pre-medical student at Princeton University, I've had significant experience with a vast array of subjects in both learning and teaching roles. I started tutoring in high school and have been hooked ever since! I enjoy helping others succeed in any way I can. After spending a few years helping students in my hometown prepare for the SAT, I've more recently focused on the hard sciences. I've taught students of all ages in the past and I believe it is important to curtail your teaching methods to the student's favorite learning style. Whether you're a visual, auditory, or tactile learner (or some combination of all three!), I'm confident I can assist you in understanding and mastering difficult concepts!I plan to matriculate to medical school in the summer of 2014 after taking a gap year filled with relaxation, a lot of hockey, and hopefully some scuba diving if I'm lucky enough to escape the barren oceanic depths of New Jersey!

I have over ten years' experience teaching in the classroom and tutoring privately. I especially love math; even though I know a lot of students find it difficult, I like showing them ways it can be enjoyable if not fun! I know it's tough and I'll never make you feel bad for not knowing the answer--but I'll make you feel good when you finally get it! I can explain things in a million different ways until I find the right method for the individual student. Plus, I'm super-funny and awesome.

As an accomplished data analyst, I am experienced in collaborating with cross-functional teams to adjust testing models that ensure comprehensive analyses of client requirements. My job allows me to be a good team player and communicator with high attention to detail and accuracy. While at Meicai.cn (An online platform that enables farmers to sell vegetables to small and medium-sized restaurants), I was responsible for using data visualization techniques to illustrate our ideas to the sales and marketing departments. Working closely with other departments allowed me to hone my interpersonal skills and the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical personnel. My position gave me the opportunity to solve the problems always on behalf of our clients. When I was a student I always summarized my learning process and faults I made so that when people asked me about homework questions I could reflect on myself and used my experience and methods to discuss with them. I always put myself in others' shoes so that to solve the problems effectively. What's more, I have the flexibility in both language and culture to operate successfully in many different contexts.

I have been teaching for almost 20 years and I really enjoy interaction with students. I think there is a lot for an instructor to learn from that interaction since you put apart the problem you are trying to teach. You learn details you never thought were there. I got my bachelor's degrees from UMKC in computer science and math and I'm passionate about both and especially about AI as its a wonderful combination of both. Currently I'm pursuing my Master's in computer science with a concentration in data science. I'm tutoring Python, R, Data Science, Discrete Math, Math, Middle School Math and Technology and Computer Science.

I believe strongly that it is possible to succeed at anything, if you are willing to dedicate yourself to it. I am dedicated to helping my students achieve their full potential as my own personal goal. When I worked as a tutor at the Burbridge Athletics Academic Center at the University of Utah, where I also earned my Bachelors of Science in Physics, I developed a passion for education, which I intend to continue with now that I have moved to Washington DC. I am able to tutor students in Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science, having developed experience as part of my pursuit of that degree. I also have an intense interest in History, which I pursued in my general educational requirements of that same degree. I am a kinesthetic learner, and I believe that the best way to develop an understanding of a subject is to do, rather than watch or listen.
