I am a student at University of California, Los Angeles, double majoring in Applied Math and Business Economics. My previous tutoring experience includes tutoring college-level and high school students in a variety of subjects, including Math, Economics, Accounting and English, as well as working with elementary school students on the improvement of reading skills. I enjoy being able to share my knowledge and passion for a subject with my students because I believe that learning should be an engaging and rewarding experience. I am bilingual in Russian and English and advanced in French.

I am a professional scientist with multiple years of experience in the biopharmaceutical field. Hi, I'm Rachel, and I look forward to being your tutor! As a research scientist, I have a strong backround in biology and other STEM subjects. I completed my undergraduate degree in biology in 2022, and am currently at the end of my master's program studying animal behavior. Having gone through the U.S. school and college system myself, including standardized testing and higher-level AP/IB classes, I am well equipped to help you meet your academic goals!
I have been an academic student who has always focused on excelling at whatever I do and giving my 100%. Teaching is my true passion and seeing my students learn and succeed gives me immense joy. Having helped several students over the past 5+ years, I am able to adapt my teaching style to my students' learning styles and methods. I look forward to helping many more students through the Varsity platform. While I tutor a variety of subjects, my passion is in teaching Math, Accounting, and Finance. My education: MBA in Strategic Management + Bachelor's degree in Business (Accounting and Finance).
I'm a Computer Science and Law, Societies, and Justice major at the University of Washington. I've tutored K12 students across a wide range of subjects, including district curriculum, AP courses, and SAT/ACT preparation. I also founded a volunteer tutoring program focused on dual-language support in Mandarin and English. I'm passionate about helping students reach their full potential because I believe education should be accessible to all and that every student has a right to it. My core tutoring areas include English at all levels, math from elementary through SAT, and history. I'm excited to help you succeed in a way that's meaningful for you. I look forward to connecting with you and learning alongside you!
I'm a Computer Science and Data Science major who went through IB, AP, and Running Start, so I've experienced a lot of the academic challenges a student faces. I work with students on everything from middle school math and reading to high school coursework and ACT prep, specializing in ACT and IB courses. I love breaking things down until they click, and I always tie what we're learning back to why it actually matters. I'm patient, adaptable, and genuinely invested in seeing students improve.
As a fourth-year Chemical Engineering student at the University of Washington, I am passionate about sharing my love for math and science with others. With over 2 years of tutoring experience, I specialize in subjects like Algebra, AP Chemistry, and Physics, where I focus on breaking down complex concepts into fundamental steps that make learning accessible and engaging. My teaching philosophy centers on fostering a supportive environment where students feel empowered to ask questions and explore their curiosity. I am dedicated to helping each student achieve their academic goals and develop a deeper understanding of the material. When I'm not studying or tutoring, I enjoy exploring new scientific advancements and participating in hands-on projects that further enhance my knowledge and skills. I look forward to working with you and guiding you on your academic journey!
I'm not tutoring or buried in my textbooks, you will either find me rock climbing at the Triangle Rock Club, playing Ultimate Frisbee, working on my car, or enjoying the great outdoors (beaches, mountains, forests--you name it, I love it). On rainy weekends I enjoy tinkering with computers and old electronics, playing Pokemon, or picking at my guitar.
I am an interdisciplinary educator with an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a B.A. from Dartmouth College. My background is primarily in integrated arts learning and museum education and I specialize in visual arts, history and art history, and object-based learning. In all subjects, I take a creative, inquiry-based and learner-centered approach, designing opportunities for each unique individual to meet their learning goals.
I am a recent graduate from a masters program in biostatistics at Columbia University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in biological sciences, with a focus in neurobiology at Northwestern University. In August, I will be starting a doctoral program in biostatistics at NYU. I was a teaching assistant at Columbia University in my department and also have tutored graduate students and undergraduates privately as well. My primary areas of tutoring are math and statistics coursework in addition to math sections on standardized tests such as the GRE and GMAT. I am very passionate about helping students feel more confident and excited about math. In my spare time, I enjoy running, playing piano, and spending time with friends and family.
I am a graduate of Wesleyan University, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with High Honors. With eight years of experience working in education, I've tutored students in math, science, history, and English, as well as helped students prepare for standardized tests. I've guided adults towards passing the US Citizenship Exam and taught English in India, where I lived for six months. Whenever I work with a student I personalize the lessons to fit their particular learning style, since I know every student is unique and having the right fit can make all the difference in making learning fun and effective. My strengths are tutoring the social sciences and humanities, as well as making math and standardized tests approachable to students that normally don't like those subjects. In my spare time I like traveling, spending time in the outdoors (climbing & backpacking), meditation, and playing soccer. Next fall I will be beginning my PhD in Education at Harvard University.
I am a graduate of Washington University in St Louis, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in History with minors in Humanities and Anthropology. Since graduation, I have worked as a tutor, teacher, and director of tutors at a charter public middle school in Boston. During this time I also received my Masters in Mild to Moderate Disabilities from Simmons College. I have worked extensively with students with a range of abilities, including students with specific learning disabilities, emotional impairments, dyslexia, and ADHD. My teaching experience has given me a deep understanding of the knowledge and habits essential to academic success and has given me the opportunity to hone a variety of strategies that ensure students at each level can achieve their academic goals. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, my favorite ones are Reading, Elementary/Middle School Math, History, and Test Prep. In my experience, tutoring is the most rewarding when a student has that "aha!" moment and achieves a new level of understanding and confidence in his/her abilities. I am a firm believer in the transformative power of education, and I see my role to be that of a facilitator and coach who is there to help the student reach his/her goals through individualized support and rigorous practice. In my free time, I enjoy reading, running, practicing my Spanish, and discovering new music. I am also an avid traveler and just got back from a 3 month trip to South America. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you!
