Kaila: Clark County tutor
Certified Tutor
I graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Dual Language Immersion. I have experience working with diverse groups of students, including English Language Learners and students with disabilities, in one-on-one, small group, and whole group settings. Although I am qualified to tutor a wide variety of subjects and age groups, I am most interested in teaching elementary school students from kindergarten to sixth grade. I am passionate about working with children and love tracking and celebrating students' progress towards meeting their individual educational goals. I am comfortable teaching all elementary level subject matter and content. I have a particular passion for the Spanish language, and as a DLI educator, I can assist students with mastering conversational Spanish or with learning Spanish and content simultaneously in an immersion setting. My teaching style is student-focused and data-driven, and I especially love creating lessons that align with my students' interests and hobbies. In my spare time, you are most likely to find me roaming my local library in search of a good book or inventing a new recipe in the kitchen.

Undergraduate Degree: Brigham Young University-Provo - Bachelor of Science, Elementary School Teaching
In my spare time, I love to read and write about a variety of topics. I spend a lot of time experimenting in the kitchen, and although the food I make doesn’t always turn out, it’s always an adventure! I also love the outdoors, and you can often find me spending a weekend hiking or going for a walk in the park. My family is one of the most important things of my life, and I spend a lot of time with them playing board games, going on road trips, and telling jokes. I also love to collect postcards, and I have hundreds that people have sent me or I have bought for myself.
