Certified Tutor
I am a caring, patient educator. I can help students be succesful. I can inspire students to succeed.
I have a doctorate degree. Currently, I teach and tutor science, and medical terminology at the University. My role as an educator is important to the student (s) that I teach. Consistent with my goal of becoming a more effective educator, my teaching style continues to improve and evolve. I realize that students have a variety of learning styles and I strive to promote a rich learning environment that is conducive to student learning.
To reach students, I understand that I must engage them, establish a rapport, hold their attention, and create an open learning community. Thus, it is clear that I must meet students where they are at, then present the material in a logical format so that they can raise their level of understanding and apply the material that they are learning.
Therefore, my goal in teaching is to promote student achievement without compromising quality education. I create a learning environment that is warm and welcoming. Also, I encourage the students to be interactive, collaborate and become self-directed learners. By making my expectations and course objectives clear, I outline ways in which the students can achieve their academic goals. Furthermore, I ensure that I maintain a professional demeanor. I enjoy establishing a caring, positive learning environment in which the students are encouraged to believe in themselves and to demonstrate self-respect for others. Hence, I encourage students to always strive to do their personal best. Bringing my enthusiasm to the classroom allows students to actively participate and I am able to provide instant feedback that allows for corrections wherever needed. I make every effort to promote real-world examples that spark critical thinking and students interest in science related careers.
