I am a graduate student at Columbia University currently majoring in South Asian Studies with a focus on history and postcolonial theory. I attended New College of Florida where I received my bachelor's degree in History. I am an aspiring professor and an avid student of all disciplines. My tutoring experience ranges from elementary school to graduate-level work, and I have specialized for the last two years in working with students with learning disabilities. My preferred subjects are history, literature, reading comprehension, and writing, and I can tutor verbal sections for standardized tests including the GRE. My favorite subject, you may have guessed, is history, but I also have a long personal history learning foreign languages, and I feel that this contributes to my skill in teaching English reading comprehension. When I'm not teaching students or sitting in a library, I'm walking my Australian shepherd dog around Fort Tryon Park or shopping for used books.
