Bath SAT Subject Test in Latin Tutoring FAQ
After spending your high school years studying the rigorous and difficult tongue of the Romans, don't risk anything other than a superlative performance on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) Subject Test in Latin. A good score on this exam can help you stand out from other applicants while you are applying to college and universities. Preparation for this test requires a thorough review of the grammar, syntax, and vocabulary that you have acquired through your invested hours of translation and study. Instead of wandering through syntax charts and being infuriated by inflections, find an excellent language guide to help you with your exam preparations. Contact Varsity Tutors today to discuss the tutoring options available to you for your SAT Subject Test preparation.
When you call Varsity Tutors, you will work alongside educational directors who can help you through the process of getting in touch with a quality tutor, who will be able to not only help you review the concepts you learned during your Latin courses, but they can focus on the information that you will need to know to ace the SAT in Latin. Your educational director will create a student profile that allows you to tell tutors what you are looking for, including your schedule, testing date, aspirations, past instruction, and much more. With this information, your potential tutor can begin the basis of the lesson plan they will use for your sessions.
The SAT Subject Test in Latin comprehensively examines the content you have covered over your past years of Latin studies. From reading comprehension questions to ones regarding the various conjugations and declensions that you have learned, as well as Latin-to-English translations, the exam requires a ready and firm grasp of all that you have accomplished over the years of your study. Even the best students need to take time to review all of these topics before the exam day, and personal tutoring may be the best option for helping you do so. By providing a personalized approach to your preparation, your tutor can focus on your weaker areas of understanding. Building on the knowledge that you do have, he or she can help you gain proficiency in those topics that need direct attention. Such targeted help can save you much time and frustration, allowing you to prepare for your exam efficiently.
Each tutoring session is based around your specific needs. If you need to meet more or less frequently at any given time, your tutor can make adjustments to your custom plan to ensure that you are kept on track. Further, you can ask for in-person tutoring sessions that occur at your own home, as well as anywhere else that may be most convenient for you, or you are free to request face-to-face online tutoring using the Varsity Tutors live learning platform.
Admissions for undergraduate programs are highly competitive, and scholarship money goes only to the best applicants. By proving that you have achieved mastery of the Latin language, you can provide your target schools with a metric that helps to evaluate your particular linguistic and logical skills. In contrast to the applications of other students who have not studied a difficult, classical language like Latin, your application can show not only that you did well in your particular Latin class but also that you have ranked highly against a national pool of students. However, this can only be the case if you do, in fact, perform at your best on exam day. Contact Varsity Tutors today about SAT Subject Test in Latin tutoring and let us help you find the perfect Latin tutor who can give you the assistance you need to show the world your Latin prowess.

Recent Bath SAT Subject Test in Latin Tutoring Session Notes
For today's session we went through an ISEE practice exam that is directly from the makers of the test. The student seemed much more confident with the material in this test and did exceptionally well in the mathematics achievement and reading sections. She has gotten better about working through problems. We also went over an example of a well-written essay and talked about the pros and cons. She had very good points about the writing and I think will do very well on the essay portion as well.
The student and I switched to talking about the ACT English section today, and her initial test result was a 26. Once the specific applications of the first-pass/second-pass system to the English section were explained to her, she seemed much more confident in her responses, and I expect the test she'll take for homework will be consistent with her 30s in other areas.
She scored a 31 on her most recent Math exam, making it 3 out of 3 subject tests we've covered so far that she has exceeded 30 on.
The student and I reviewed her work on two SAT essay worksheets. She finds them helpful for structuring her responses. We spent some time brainstorming examples and discussing the kinds of sources to use. She then wrote an essay. She is improving in terms of structuring her thoughts. I have asked her to bring written paragraphs for 3 examples she can use for future essays.
We generally covered math and a few math sections. She completed a full ACT practice test and she is well prepared for the test. We'll ramp up the test taking endurance as time goes by so that when she goes for the test she'll be fully prepped.
Today the student and I started by going over the end of the math section we were reviewing last session. He had questions on a few of the problems, but for the most part was able to correct his work on his own. This finished up the end of the work in the ACT prep book, so we've moved on to the tests available from the ACT website. I had him do a full science section. One of the passages in particular was challenging for him, but after looking at it again and with some help he was able to grasp the concepts. After reviewing that section, we had about 20 minutes left so I had him do the Natural Science passage of the reading section. He did pretty well on it. For homework he will complete the other 3 reading passages.
We worked CR/Sentence Completion today. We also developed a calendar to plot our study plan for the next few weeks. I informed the student that's she's doing a good job.
