I am a graduate from Columbia University with a dual degree in Physics and Mechanical Engineering.I first began tutoring with a non-profit organization, WhizKids, where tutors were paired with elementary aged children from lower-income neighborhoods to help with homework. Since then, I was a tutor at my first college, where I tutored groups of college-aged students in math and physics. Since I began tutoring, I've loved the connections I was able to make with students, as well as the joy of watching each student become more confident and proud of themselves as they work through the subjects they initially had struggled with. I also love challenging myself in determining ways I can modify my teaching and tutoring methods to the many unique and various learning styles I encounter with each student. Since my major has been mostly math-based, I love teaching calculus 1 and 2 as well as Physics the most. I recently graduated from Fordham University with a bachelor of arts in economics and philosophy. While in college, I enrolled in a wide variety of courses and received an extensive interdisciplinary education. My experience at Fordham demonstrated firsthand the value education has in helping people understand difficult concepts and grasp the connections between ideas from different academic subjects. As a tutor, I strive to help students attain comprehension and learn how to approach subjects that may seem daunting at first. During my time as an undergraduate, I volunteered as a tutor for middle school students as part of a joint athletic and academic after school program. I am most passionate about helping people learn history, social sciences, and mathematics. I also assist with standardized test prep, primarily with the Reading and Writing sections of the exams. In my spare time, I enjoy photography, hiking and other outdoor activities, and reading about philosophy, evolutionary biology, and human history.

I'm currently finishing my final year at ASU's Honors College with a major in Creative Writing. I've worked in teaching and tutoring positions with everyone from first graders to college students. I just returned from spending my last semester studying in Prague, Czech Republic, travelling extensively and broadening my perspective. I am most confident with Algebra 1 & 2 and Geometry, so if you find yourself struggling in those areas, I could be of some assistance.I am a 20 year old Architecture student at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. I take interest in all types of design and art. I, myself, am a visual learner; I understand the struggle of not being able to grasp content simply because you just cannot see it. For more than 9 years I have taught high school, undergraduate and graduate students in the laboratory, classroom and tutorial settings. I believe learning should be fun and that everyone can learn, we just need to work together to find out what works for you. Learning is not just observation, it is also participation. By engaging students in interactive discussions, I encourage curiosity and intellectual exploration. I help students learn how to think not what to think. By learning to think critically, students are able to maximize their potential to excel in math and science and do well on exams. I am willing to work hard to be the best teacher I can to guide students through the challenges they will encounter when studying chemistry and mathematics.

I would consider myself to be a jack of all trades. I love to learn, and to be introduced into something new each and everyday. There is an endless amount of things to learn in this life. What fuels my desire to learn about a vast number of subjects is my ability to pick up information rather quickly, there is a catch however to being a jack of all trades.
