My bachelor's degree is in Studio Art from the University of Hawai'i.I tutor computer science and information technology subjects including C++, Python, and Cyber Security. My favorite subject to tutor is cybersecurity because there is always an interesting real-world example to illustrate a concept. My tutoring style is by doing an activity or reviewing examples of a concept in action and then getting an understanding of why it is important in the broader landscape of the subject matter.Most recently I have studied machine learning using python and am curious as to its application in cybersecurity and game design.

I tutor networking, virtualization & programming languages: C#, C++, Swift, Python, HTML, JS, CSS, bash.On campus, I give all my students a tour of the Digital Information Technology room where students can engage in extracurricular IT projects. This room is loaded with neat technology to inspire students to see the IOT (internet of things), make friends playing video games on a homemade arcade console, work on digital whiteboard or play with a Cisco 10g switch. It's an incubator for student development.I find teaching very fulfilling. I like the idea of teaching, inspiring & enabling students to succeed. I like the idea of teaching a concept that will echo in their minds for decades to come.In addition to being an AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate & an AWS Certified Developer Associate, I am also an AWS Academy Accredited Educator giving me access to official teaching materials from AWS. I have also vetted a test bank to be the most reliable source of test questions & have gone beyond that to annotate the confirmed correct answer and comments on why the other answers are incorrect. This understanding of the test questions in their entirety not only teaches the material but goes far into assuring exam certification success.My proudest accomplishment since I started working for Varsity Tutors was when I recently increased a 610 score to a 735 (720 is passing) over 14 sessions in 30 days. I know I can do this again.My teaching philosophy is that regardless of the reason for a student's low aptitude for a subject whether it be due to poor fundamentals, a lack of focus etc., all can be cured by raising the interest quotient. If I can get a student to see the magic in world around us and teach that student how the magic trick works, they get hooked and want to know more.Aside from academics, my interests include playing pool, hanging out with my girlfriend and her dogs, IOT (internet of things) & home appliance repair.
