Hello, I'm Geoff Uhal. I possess a Ph.D. from Liberty University in Ancient through Modern European History with particular emphases on cultural and military history, philosophy, and modern intellectual history. I also possess a graduate certificate in American History, with emphases in pre-contact through Early Modern military and political history, and naval and guerrilla warfare in the modern era. I created a learning model in my dissertation and have been teaching interdisciplinary classes for over twenty years. My passion is for making learning a procedural effort that is both engaging and effective for cultivating critical thinking and problem-solving skills. More importantly, I try to make it fun, even really dense subjects like Cicero's criticisms of Julius Caesar and Latin satire. My passion for teaching extends into my personal life as well, as I teach people with learning disabilities and cognitive disorders, and also work as a boxing coach. I personally believe that teaching and education are sacred professions that require total investment of educators. I am also a military veteran of the war in Afghanistan and a competitive fencer.
