Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Indiana University Bloomington. I received my Bachelor of Science in Law and Public Policy with a focus on Critical Race and Ethnic Studies. I graduated from high school with a full International Baccalaureate diploma. While in college, I tutored native Spanish speakers in Latin American culture and literature. Since graduating, I have been a substitute teacher for grades pre-k - 8th in all content areas specializing in English, literature, social sciences, and Spanish. Currently, I work for Chicago Public Schools and I also provide ESL instruction in my spare time. I am most passionate about teaching Spanish, English, and social sciences. I believe in strong communication between tutors and students and try and gear any instruction based on student interest. As an instructor, I try to place student autonomy first and focus on critical thinking skills as well. In my free time, I enjoy reading novels, hiking, and rock climbing.
