Certified Tutor

I graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) with a Bachelors of Arts in Biology with minors in Neuroscience and Psychology; from Clemson University with a Masters of Science in Biological Sciences; and from East Carolina University (ECU) with a Masters of Education in Science Education, where I also became a certified Science Education Specialist. I look forward to sharing the marvels of science with you and/or your scholar. I currently teach Biology and Honors Biology. I do have experience in teaching IB Biology HL as well.

I believe every scholar deserves an equitable learning experience and I believe, with the right educational tools, that every student is able to succeed. I design lessons and differentiate all lessons to meet the specific needs of each individual scholar. I will not proceed with material until I know every student has successfully mastered the topic of study. One of my goals is to ensure that your scholar is able to learn and grow within the academic environment so that they may progress onward and upward upon their academic pathway.

I have taught in Alternative Education in the past and I currently teach in a traditional high school setting. I am able to tutor Middle School, High School, and on up to college introduction courses in General Science, Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, Environmental Sciences, and Ecology. My passion falls with the Biological Sciences. Specifically, the conservation of endangered animals, threatened ecosystems, trophic cascades, and apex predators. Other interests include epidemiology, climate change, global warming, and animal behavior.

When I am not in the classroom or helping students learn remotely, I enjoy reading and relaxing.
