Thank you for viewing my profile. I am a licensed and board certified elementary school teacher with fifteen years of experience in regular and special education. I am a mother of two children with special needs. I currently am the teacher for a private homeschool family. This unique schedule allows me the flexibility to tutor at various times, depending on the student's needs.

Some of my most common tutoring areas include:

Phonics and Reading
Reading Comprehension
Writing
Grammar

Other subject areas have included vocabulary, spelling, and ESL.

Some students need assistance with study skills. This would include skills like organization, note-taking, study methods, and so on.

Children with special needs are important to me. They sometimes require a different method or implementation of instruction.

ALL children can learn. With the appropriate expectations and instruction tailored to their needs, learning styles, and personalities, students WILL make progress. One size truly does not fit all when it comes to learning!

My hourly rates are based on my experience, education, and approach to tutoring. I have a commitment to the student. As their advocate, I will challenge them while also making the session fun. It will be age- and developmentally-appropriate. I have clients independent of Wyzant, and I am happy to provide you with reference contact information. Although I am tutoring to "make a living", I have the best interest of your child at heart, always. Education and empowerment of children is my passion!
