I was the lead math and science tutor at Texas State University, which brought on my passion for tutoring all ages. I love knowing I can help a student gain the knowledge to not only solve a problem sitting in front of them, but to have those foundational steps to prepare them for the future.
I received both my Bachelor's and Master's of Science degrees from Texas State University with a focus in electrochemistry. Therefore, the main subject I enjoy tutoring is general chemistry.
My goal when tutoring is to ensure the student gains problem solving and critical thinking skills, content mastery, and of course individual fulfillment. To obtain this, my tutoring style involves getting to know the students personality and interests. In doing so, I can potentially connect the material to the students personal experiences. From there I can apply new concepts and gage content mastery.
As a recent transplant to Washington myself, I have found I have a lot to explore. Outside of academia, my interests include my pets, hiking, softball, volleyball, new food spots, and learning what Washington has to offer in history and art.
