I have degrees in Psychology and in Flute Performance, so I am a science nerd and a music nerd all wrapped in one. I am currently living this out in the field of Music Therapy. While my expertise resides in music and psychology, my strong passion for learning has led me to other subjects including math, biology, and writing. Math in particular is my favorite subject to tutor, because I find that it isolates problem solving and learning. Math calls for analysis, creativity, and perseverance - qualities which I strive to cultivate in any learning environment. My biggest priority as a tutor is to foster learning. I will never give a student an answer I believe they can come up with themselves. This process often looks like leading questions, comparison with other subjects, and ultimately getting to know each student's learning style. This is all for the goal of making students the best learners they can be and getting them ready to tackle any new concept that crosses their path.
