Hello All, I have been working in education since 2017. I am a strong believer in the power of education and in particular literacy. I worked for 2.5 years teaching reading and math groups in a public school. I am very successful at engaging students and reframing any subject to help meet a student's personal learning needs and goals. In addition to my strong advocacy of literacy, I also have a strong love for the power of math and numbers. I know math can be very intimidating to many students and math trauma is very real. Part of the work in tutoring anyone in any subject that has chronically been difficult for them, is to facilitate the healing, in addition the education, that is necessary for mastery of the subject. I have considerable experience also with students from many neurodivergent backgrounds, primarily those on the autism spectrum. Part of my innovative curriculum design also accounts for neurodivergent needs of the students and I am always happy to integrate IEP goals into any tutoring session.
