Certified Tutor

I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree from Wells College. I graduated summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, with distinction in my major field of Western European Studies. I still find history and culture fascinating, and enjoy reading and writing.

I find it rewarding to edit papers and help others develop their ideas, find resources, and express their points clearly in writing. I enjoy helping people to learn information and skills, and to understand concepts, as well as learning things myself. I treat others with respect, and I believe part of teaching or tutoring is to provide support and encouragement, while empowering students to take responsibility for their own academic projects.

I have taught life skills to teens in foster care, assisted groups of children with writing and putting on plays, tutored in art, English, history, and a variety of other subjects, and currently plan and implement educational and fun programs for our local library.

I have a wide range of interests, including various artistic and creative endeavors, such as jewelry-making; hiking, canoeing, and other outdoor activities; Irish dance; and healing arts.
