Certified Tutor

I am currently a full-time high school math teacher in New York State and I tutor part-time in the evenings. I graduated from New York University and SUNY Cortland, and have over 16 years of teaching experience, teaching at both the middle and high school levels. My Master's Degree is in Educational Psychology and I have a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics/Adolescence Education. I currently teach Algebra I and College Statistics, however, I have experience teaching and tutoring all math classes from grades 7 - 12, including Math 7 and 8, Geometry, Algebra II, and College Algebra. I am a New York State Master Teacher Emeritus, where I lead and participate in professional development in my content and practice. I believe ALL students can learn, and that everyone learns at different rates and in different ways. I try to show various approaches with concepts, catering to how each student best approaches math and using their own individual thinking process. I believe in patience, kindness, and being approachable with students. I know sometimes math is intimidating or frustrating, and my goal is to help each student succeed and build their confidence.
