Certified Tutor

When I was in high school I dreamed of going to a selective college like Harvard, The University of Chicago, or Stanford. Thanks to the help of a great ACT tutor, good grades, and a lot of motivation I was accepted into The University of Chicago with a full tuition scholarship. Currently, I am a rising third year in my undergraduate studies at The University of Chicago.

Although I was a good student in high school, I became much stronger with the help of older students and tutors. I struggled with math for a lot of my freshman and sophomore year. Working with a tutor made me a lot more confident in my abilities. As someone who has depended on tutoring myself, I know how importance patience and trust is.

As a student myself, I'm passionate about teaching with enthusiasm and fun. When tutoring Spanish and Arabic I love to teach songs and play games. Even for test prep, I've found that when learning is fun, it's a lot easier to be both a student and a teacher.

I have a wide range of experience with tutoring kids of all ages. My own little sister of nine years old struggles with math and when I'm home I dedicate a lot of my time to encouraging her to stay on track and to teaching her fundamental skills. I've had experience teaching a class of 3rd graders science topics completely in Spanish, to strengthening the writing skills of a middle schooler, to working with high school students for the ACT and SAT. In short, I am confident in my ability to work with anyone.

Outside of class, I'm very active on Student Government and I love exploring the city of Chicago. I love dogs and I would definitely consider myself an ice cream connoisseur! I am also a communications intern at the University Community Service Center at The University of Chicago. In this position, I spend a lot of time graphic designing and talking to people of all ages.
