Certified Tutor
I love tutoring because if a student is seeking help, they are dedicated to their work. I look forward to being that spark that finally allows you to 'get it'.
I studied Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mathematics at the University of Colorado in Boulder. I tutored the whole time, typically Calculus, Statistics, and Physics, but with a handful of Engineering and Spanish courses as well. I worked with students from Business, Engineering, I-Phy, you name it. I also worked with high-school students from around Boulder. After graduating in May, I spent three months in South America, where I taught elementary school students in English and Math. I just moved to Denver and am excited to get started with Varsity Tutors!

What is your teaching philosophy?
I adapt my teaching style to each student individually. Tutoring is more than a job; it's an opportunity to inspire a student and unlock an entire new pool of ideas and concepts. Calculus, Physics, and Statistics all play such beautiful roles in our beautiful world; I want to show you how.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Get to know each other. I think it's important to make a personal connection with students. It helps me to understand their learning styles and makes the sessions more personable, and more enjoyable.
