What is your teaching philosophy?
I primarily believe in my students' intelligence and capacity to solve problems. Sometimes they need a supportive voice -- someone who can answer their questions and nudge them in the right direction -- but making them a partner in learning is the first step to helping them discover their academic potential.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
In a first session with a student I might spend some time getting to know them, start to go over the obstacles they have encountered with their academic subject, and leave them with some activities to complete in order to set them up for progress at our next meeting.
