I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

I've done a lot of things and been to a lot of places, but wherever I go I try to find time to teach or tutor. Whether it's teaching English as a Second Language in Peru, math in Connecticut, or writing in Ypsilanti, I keep teaching in my life because I love the feeling of seeing a student reach a new level.

I'm a big fan of designed independent learning, and my experience has taught me that "studying harder" is not always the answer. With each student, I focus first on organization: what we need to cover and a timeline to get to their goal.

I'm a physician assistant student at Duke and hope to become a clinic director some day. In spare time outside of school , I write, play music, and kick it with friends.

Most recently, I spent about a year in Peru and Ecuador working at a nonprofit clinic and freelancing as a writer. The next place I'd like to go is Senegal or the North of Mali. Life is fun!
