Recently returning from an incredible year living and working in Madrid, Spain, I'm looking to continue teaching Spanish and English to those who are motivated to learn. I began providing trumpet lessons at a young age, and then continued teaching privately in university in Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel. I have the skills and experience to teach Algebra, as well. I enjoy incorporating fun games and activities into my academic lessons, aiming to shine a different and more exciting light on learning for my students.
I am upbeat and energetic people-pleaser, always looking for the next opportunity to meet people and learn new skills. Surrounding myself with inspiring and intelligent people is how I aim to live, and I have been fortunate enough to meet incredible people from all over the world, through my travels. I am an avid cyclist and runner, hoping to complete my first triathlon in the Summer of 2016, and highly value strong relationships with my friends and family.

How would you help a student stay motivated?
I love to motivate my students by showing them the big picture: what can Spanish, English, Algebra, etc., do for you? I've been fortunate enough to have had wonderful and motivating role models, giving me opportunities to use my skills to learn and grow more. Think of all the travel opportunities, with a new language! New people, cultures, foods, lifestyles...without a translator!
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
I aim to break down a concept into its various parts, analyzing each aspect before moving on to the next. Learning is a puzzle, and we need to understand the purpose of each piece individually before piecing them together.
