I graduated cum laude from NYU in May of 2014 where I double majored in history and anthropology. During my four years at NYU, I tutored high school students in history, reading comprehension, and writing composition at a community center in downtown Manhattan called the Door. I have a passion for studying people and cultures and have found great success teaching my students to both understand and appreciate the power of a good narrative both in history and literature. People often think of history as a series of facts or see a reading assignment as an exercise in memorizing plot points. Through an understanding of narrative my students and I build reading comprehension and writing skills that translate into greater success in all disciplines.
