I am originally from the Inland Empire region of Southern California. After graduating as valedictorian of my high school class, I attended the University of Notre Dame. I graduated with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in European Studies. After college, I worked in the business world for a few years where I ran the training department. Through this job, I discovered that I loved researching and teaching. I am starting my fifth year of graduate school in the UC Davis Political Science Department, working toward my PhD. I study legislatures in sub-Saharan Africa, with the goal of becoming a professor.

I have worked as a teaching assistant since I began graduate school. I really enjoy working one-on-one with students to help them understand tough material and get interested in material that can sometimes seem dry at first. I especially enjoy helping students with improving their term papers. I have found that many students have good ideas, but struggle with putting them onto paper in a clear and concise manner. I also think good grammar is becoming a lost art, and I love helping students improve their wording and grammar.

In my spare time I love to read, especially science fiction and fantasy literature. I love doing jigsaw puzzles and playing online trivia and word games. I also enjoy reading news and science articles.
