Certified Tutor

I recently graduated from Lewis & Clark College. I love working with students and my subject areas are High School/College Writing, Micro-Economics, Macro-Economics, and Algebra. For two years, I worked as a writing tutor at Lewis & Clark College. I really enjoyed my time there and I hope to continue working as a writing tutor. I collaborate with students on every part of the writing processbrainstorming ideas, outlining the paper, structuring paragraphs, and perfecting grammar.

As an Economics tutor, I have experience in both Micro-Economics and Macro-Economics. I have worked on topics such as inelasticity, supply/demand, dead weight loss, monopolies, and taxation. I am also an Algebra tutor because I have been studying for the GRE (which requires a fair bit of Algebra) and I have some math background as part of my Economics coursework.

As an undergraduate, I was a Philosophy major and an Economics minor. I think both disciplines are incredibly important and each has provided me with valuable skillsPhilosophy has taught me how to write well and identify arguments, while Economics has taught me how to think about markets, mathematical models, and economic theories. In terms of my personal qualities, I am friendly, responsible, and enjoy working with others. I like to read and spend time outdoors (hiking or kayaking), and I am originally from San Francisco, CA. I hope to pursue a career in education because I enjoy teaching and I think a good education is essential to living well.
