Certified Tutor

I am experienced in tutoring children K-8 in reading, writing, math, social studies,and science. I also have experience with standardized test preparation for elementary and middle school students, study skills, organization, and working with students who have special needs.
I am an undergraduate student at Long Island University- C.W. Post where I study elementary education and well as political science. Ever since I have been a sophomore at Post, I have been affiliated with the America Reads Program. This work-study program has trained me in effective tutoring strategies that I have used to assist struggling readers at Sea Cliff Elementary and Deasy Elementary School.
Working with children is a passion of mine that I wish to eventually turn into a full time career. I have been described as creative, enthusiastic, animated, engaging, and very friendly.
My approach requires me to not only develop a relationship with the student but also be excited and enthusiastic about the learning process. This helps me motivate students as well as keep their attention.
