During today's session, the student and I reviewed types of congruence transformations (translation, rotation, or reflection). He did a great job at identifying which transformation was represented in each of the coordinate plane graphs and real world pictures. We also covered identifying the correct transformation from points plotted on a coordinate plane. He did really well with this concept. Next, we did a "spiral review" in which he did exceptionally well with finding side lengths and angle measures for various types of triangles. We ended our session with a review of finding the midpoint of line segments when given two ordered pairs. I modeled and explained the concept. He did a great job and was able to work independently and explain the process and what his answers meant.

The student worked on SAT prep. We identified that vocabulary is something he definitely needs help on, as the questions he was missing were due to him not knowing the words or getting enough context clues. We are going to focus on that, as well as any classwork he needs help with in the future.

I started by building rapport with the 6 year old year and assessing her knowledge of Spanish. We reviewed basic questions related to stating her name and asking other people's names, reviewed colors and numbers. We went on to numbers from 11 to 20. Started building up her vocabulary in order to identify everyday phrases and basic questions. We also looked at her Mother Goose rhyme book and learned new nouns together with their related articles.

Tonight, the student had to use proportions to solve problems involving scale. We set up proportions and solved for x. Next, we studied her vocabulary words by reviewing the definitions and making up our own sentences for the words. Lastly, she has to write 4 scenes, so we determined what the topic of each scene would be, and then made notes for each of the scenes. We are going to work on writing the scenes when I see her next.

For today's tutoring session I quickly noticed how the student is more comfortable blending sounds and how quickly she is starting to read. We worked on the word family -ag,-am. Again she blended each sound nicely and was able to decode each word. We will continue working on the word family, then she will be introduce to the digraph..
