I received my Bachelor's degree from Princeton University in 2013 and I am currently working on getting my Master's in Mental Health Counseling at Adelphi University. I have worked as a school counselor for the past 9 years. I am a life-long learner and am interested in helping others deal with their academic difficulties and become excited about their own learning. I am passionate about English, Literature, History, and Latin and helping others improve in these areas.

I recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgetown University with a B.S. in Global Health and a minor in Economics. Tutoring and mentoring students has been important to me, from tutoring refugees in English to helping aspiring Georgetown students with college essays. Though I tutor a broad range of subjects, I'm especially passionate about helping with English, college application essays, and SAT Writing. I remember firsthand how challenging the college application process can be, so I find it fulfilling to help students discern their own narratives and share techniques to help them succeed. As a 10-time tournament champion in Impromptu speaking, I also love coaching students in public speech and helping them build their confidence!

I am a graduate of both Duke University and University of Delaware. I received my Bachelor of Science at Duke in Computer Science and Biology. After graduating from Duke, I had several jobs involving teaching, including training adults on Microsoft Excel and Word and as a Science, Math and English tutor to elementary and junior high students. I also worked in Philadelphia as a standardized patient for a medical school. These jobs made me realize how much I wanted to be a teacher full time.I went back for my Registered Nursing Degree at University of Delaware, with the specific aim of teaching nursing once I had some experience. While at school I was a TA for Pathophysiology, Histology and I did some tutoring for Biology I. As a nurse I have worked in the Emergency Department, ICU, Surgical Unit, Medical Unit and in home health care. I had some experience in the medical field prior to nursing school as a student athletic trainer at Duke and a volunteer EMT for a Pennsylvania 911 ambulance company.For the past 7 years I have been teaching LPN Medical Surgical Nursing and NCLEX preparation. I have also taught Pharmacology, Leadership and Management and clinical classes. I am especially passionate about Medical Surgical Nursing.My time in nursing education has taught me that everyone needs a little help sometimes. No matter how passionate you are, it's easy to find material confusing or difficult to remember. I can help with study skills and test taking strategies that will help you not only with your current class, but future classes as well.In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, bicycling and reading.

I hold two graduate degrees; A Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Minnesota and a recent Master of Public Administration from Columbia University.I worked in a diverse school setting in urban central Minneapolis, before following my own dream of working on climate change solutions. My experience teaching includes teaching AP Chemistry and AP Environmental Science with 2 students in each course obtaining a score of 5 on the test. In my work, I benefitted from several opportunities including writing a middle school physical science textbook; working with faculty to incorporate new educational technology; teaching abroad as a Peace Corps Volunteer and through fellowships; and obtaining certification to teach introductory engineering and design.I designed curriculum and instruction tailored to meet the needs of a wide range of students from age 9 to adults. Particularly, I focus on SMART goals.o Strategic: Working to find common ground and being well planned to meet the immediate goals as well as building toward a future.o Measureable: Knowing that we have met the goals includes a process of evaluation, review and reporting.o Authentic: Connecting the concepts to the real work of practitioners in the field helps students to see the purpose of their learning.o Relevant: Working one on one to use examples and a context for learning requires getting to know the student and building on their experience.o Timely: Due to our busy schedules and the demands of coursework, goals are ranked according to their immediacy.My early career in teaching started by working for a large volunteer tutorial service at the University of Wisconsin. The combination of my teaching background and my learning helps me to identify obstacles, like misconceptions that make learning difficult.

I am currently a freshman at New York University in New York City, working towards a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics with a double minor in Dance and the Business of Media, Entertainment and Technology. While I am available to tutor a wide range of subjects, my passion lies in Mathematics, Italian, and Physics. I have tutored students ranging from middle school to college age in various mathematics subjects, and love helping others learn languages, specifically Italian and Spanish. I am passionate about helping students reach their highest potential. Seeing the transformation in a student's attitude when they finally begin to understand a subject is the most rewarding feeling, and I hope to help as many people as I can to feel confident in whatever problem or question is thrown at them. I have a deep love for dancing stemmed in me since I was a kid, and in my spare time, I frequent the theatre, and enjoy the gift of another day on this beautiful Earth.

Currently, I teach math full-time for the Denver Public School system. Prior to moving to Denver I acquired several years of experience as a mentor, substitute teacher, teaching assistant and researcher at the collegiate level. While in North Carolina I attended graduate school at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I conducted my quantitative thesis research at UNCW--which focuses on how educational inequalities perpetuate variations in the ways that individual’s access, use and benefit from Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) & the Internet. Moreover, I completed my undergraduate studies at Binghamton University and, next fall, I plan on beginning a Doctoral program for Information Communication Studies or Sociology.For fun, I have many hobbies--most of which involve being active outdoors and spending time with my friends and family. This past summer I spent a lot of time paddle-boarding at Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina—until I moved to Colorado. In August, I finished my move to Colorado and I have spent most of my leisure-time enjoying the outdoors: golfing, running and hiking.

I am a medical student who has gone through my fair share of academic challenges on my journey to achieving my dream of becoming a doctor (still in the process!). I want to be able to share my expertise and experience with others! Everyone learns at their own pace, in their own way-- don't let anything discourage you.
