The student and I reviewed functions involving integrals. We examined grafts, and evaluated functions, and found derivatives and second derivatives of functions. We examined the fundamental theorem of calculus and showed strategies for variety of integrals. The student has become proficient in integrating and addressing integral functions.

Today Student G worked on a worksheet on exponents. And we developed an outline for an essay on WWII. I also worked with Student A on pre-algebra and an essay on oceans. Both of them did well.

We worked on a number of problems involving integration. We started with a simple application to physics, integrating an acceleration function of time successively to deduce a position function of time using initial conditions to solve for arbitrary constants of integration. We computed a few derivatives involving the second fundamental theorem of calculus, we computed integrals using u-substitutions, and we touched on a related-rates problem before finishing the session. Hopefully we will get in a session or two before the final exam on Monday.

The student and I continued to review for his final exam. We finished reviewing regressions and moved on to logarithms. We spent our time together working on problems that he struggled on during his time studying independently. He continued to maintain an excellent attitude throughout the session toward the material. We reviewed a handful of strategies for test taking, including whether or not to eat breakfast, the importance of sleep, utilization of micro experimentation during the test, and algorithmic branching in problems he is unsure of.

We reviewed the scores and results of the student's full length ACT practice test. She did well overall, with an approximate score of 30. She was challenged most in Science. We looked over all her errors from the section and discussed more strategy while reviewing a new Science section practice test.

Today was focused on review. We started with a mixed review using assessment exam Algebra questions; then, we practiced percentage problems and ended by reviewing algebraic properties. We did some challenging problems tonight, and the student worked very hard!
