I want to help foster a greater awareness to the need for better education in this country. Our youth are the background of our society and it is our responsibility to make sure they're able to handle everything that will be coming their way in the future.I am a graduate of Florida International University and studied there for 5 years before receiving my Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education. I am currently working at a Physical Therapy clinic called Downtown SportFit Rehab & Training. I am also applying for the Doctorate of Physical Therapy at a few universities in Florida. My goal is to become a Physical Therapists who works with the sports community and those who suffer athletic injuries, to return them back to their original form and better.I have become a Tutor to help kids, who are having difficulties in their academic journeys, overcome those issues, and show them ways to cope with any problems they may encounter down the road. I have worked with family members and with a classroom at a local elementary school. During my undergraduate education, I was able to participate in a program to benefit children with disabilities and was given some exposure to helping those children.My favorite subjects to tutor are Reading and Math. I feel like these two subjects are the most important subjects for students to master for their futures. I would say that my method in tutoring these subjects is to first gauge what issues my students are having with the material, isolate and rectify the issue from the root, and try to provide examples of what to do when the issue happens again.In my spare time, I love to play video games and enjoy spending time with family and friends. I am also a sports fan; basketball and football are my favorites.

Originally from Toronto, I graduated from the University of Rochester in May 2015 with a B.S. in Neuroscience, a minor in French, and a minor in Music. I studied piano performance at the Eastman School of Music, volunteered as an EMT with the University of Rochester Medical Emergency Response Team, and spent a year on the Varsity Field Hockey Team. I also spent my time volunteering as a member of Delta Gamma for the Service for Sight Foundation. I was lucky enough to have spent a semester abroad in Paris, capitalizing on the availability of French pastries and museum access. After spending time as a Teaching Assistant for Biology and Organic Chemistry Lab in college, I discovered a passion for teaching. I am currently a full time Teaching Assistant for the Americorps- affiliated program Blue Engine, teaching Algebra I at an arts high school in the Bronx. I am planning on applying to medical school in the hopes of someday becoming a neurologist. In my spare time, I enjoy practicing yoga, painting, and driving my bright orange motorcycle.

I have been a Registered Dietitian for 29 years. My main focus professionally has been in Clinical Nutrition (inpatient, outpatient and community) as well as teaching nutrition classes to students in a culinary arts program. I enjoy helping students achieve their academic goals.

Whenever possible, I use film clips, journal articles, songs and literature, so that my students begin to think in the new language and not simply memorize words in a textbook! I graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a Bachelors in International Studies and a minor in French, and I have spent time living in both France and French-speaking Swtizerland. I have over five years of teaching and tutoring experience and have worked with students of all ages, from elementary to adult. I also have extensive experience teaching English to speakers of other languages and enjoy making my own language accessible to those wanting to learn it. I teach students how to find and use their voice to communicate specifically and effectively.
