We continued with the assignment questions we started the last two sessions. We covered cellular respiration in more detail. We will finish photosynthesis during our next session.

The student and I met today for the first time to go over some basic stats concepts and review what she has learned so far this year. We will try to review concepts in advance. She will be getting her midterm and other assignments back today, so next time we meet we will go over those. I think it will be helpful for her to think of real life examples that will apply to statistics, especially since she has background in working in two psychology labs.

We went over how to write a methods section for the student's research methods class. We covered APA format, and small details in order for him to not get points docked. He was struggling most with just figuring out how to start a paper. We did cover study strategies in order for his test scores to increase as our sessions go on. We came up with a study plan towards his next text for the class.

The student and I met up for our first session today to review the CARS homework assignment I gave him this week. We reviewed the questions he missed and we spent time practicing our annotation of the articles. He is going to take another practice test next week for homework and I expect his score to jump up significantly.

We continued to outline passages and answer questions after discussing the passage together. The student did one set of questions on his own, scoring 4/6 correct. We'd like to continue to improve on accuracy, but his speed is better, and he is also able to confidently rule out most incorrect answer choices. He will work on additional 2 passages on his own, as well as start a section for Physics.
