I am a graduate of James Madison University. I received a Master of Teaching in Elementary Education PK-6 and a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies, Minor in Education and concentration in Math, Science and Technology. I am extremely excited to continue my passion for teaching children and helping struggling students! Growing up, I had my share of problems with school, which I now can use to better relate to my students. Having much experience in the classroom with all age levels, I have gained insight on the different ways to approach various topics and content knowledge. Throughout college I was very involved with the public school system around the area. At first, I was a math tutor for students K-8; then a mentor for a student to formulate better study habits and work ethic; and to conclude my college career, I student taught in various grade levels. Working one on one in a tutoring session, I really like to relate to the student and connect their experiences to what we are learning about. These connections trigger interest which then triggers motivation to learn. Being a creative and enthusiastic person by nature helps me form a positive relationship with my student so that they can trust that I will be able to help them. When I am not focusing my time on teaching, you can find me at a dance class, hanging out with my three brothers, or simply relaxing at the beach with a good book.

I am a graduate of Santa Clara University, which is a prestigious university with high academic standards. My major was Business and I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree.I am passionate regarding two subjects, and both involve numbers (Algebra and Accounting). My philosophy in learning is to initially have a broad understanding of the material. The question needs to be asked, what is the purpose of these concepts and what is it going to tell us. Knowing definitions and how these concepts interrelate are like the border of a puzzle. The next step is to go through problems, so you start getting a more detailed understanding to fill in the gaps and the rest of the puzzle. Between the initial understanding and the more detailed problem solving, should give the student an ability to think their way through a problem.I am very patient and know how uncomfortable it is when you're not understanding something. My objective is to clarify those uncomfortable moments and bring things to light. I will sit with a student for as long as it takes to ensure they understand a particular concept. I will also attempt to explain concepts in different ways to help a student learn.Other accomplishments in my career include obtaining a CPA license and being conditionally accepted in the MBA program at the University of Texas. During my college years, I had taken several math classes including College Algebra. On the GRE exam, which is the national graduate school entrance exam, I ranked in the top 6% on the math section. The GRE is similar to the SAT exam only harder. In the past several months, I have studied and reviewed several Algebra books and the Las Vegas school system Algebra syllabus to bring myself current and up to date.Thank you

I am here to help my students be a better version of themselves. But that is, my main objective is to help those who struggle in a specific area, such as Math or ESL, Geometry, or Spanish, be successful.I obtained my MBA from Grand Canyon University in 2021, have a post-graduate certification in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, a Bachelor's in Applied Business Analytics, and am currently pursuing a Doctoral program in Healthcare Administration and Leadership.Although this is my first-time teaching, I am very passionate about impacting others' lives and helping my students reach their goals. I have trained others in the past in different work positions. I am incredibly patient, understanding, and compassionate. The one thing that I will ask from my students, whether they are adults, parents of young children, or middle or high school students, is to bring the topic they are struggling with and the areas they want me to focus on the most. It will help me develop appropriate class materials and make our time more productive. If you have any questions, please bring them forward. I would love to have a chat with you before any commitment. I can't wait to see you in class. Happy learning!

I have found math tutoring very exciting. I have been able to help thousands of struggling students in Community College and also students wanting to enter college, but lacking basic skills. The ability to help such students give me tremendous satisfaction.I have found that most students have a willingness to do well, but lack the understanding as to how to pursue their goals. It is only after winning over these students, and in many cases, even going out of the way to help them, that they are really able to succeed.
