I am a student at the University of Central Florida. I have studied Accounting, Engineering and Health Science. I'm excited to graduate in December 2023. I have had internships in Accounting and Industrial Engineering in both Orlando, Florida and Los Angeles, California. I have spent time tutoring high-school students with English as a second language in math. I have also tutored college students in Financial Accounting, Chemistry, and Excel. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Science, Mathematics, and Excel.

I served in the Peace Corps in Thailand from 2010-2012 where I was an English teacher who worked with children from 4th-10th grade. Previously, I have tutored students in math and English. I am very versatile in the subjects I teach, and I possess a compassionate understanding of what it takes to be a good teacher. There have been times in my life when I was also the struggling student. I graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Secondary English Education. I am pursuing my MFA at New York University in Musical Theatre Writing. As an educator in the field of secondary English education for the past four years, I have learned that students first need a support system in order to achieve their own greatness. My background is primarily in integrated arts learning and museum education and I specialize in visual arts, history and art history, and object-based learning. In all subjects, I take a creative, inquiry-based and learner-centered approach, designing opportunities for each unique individual to meet their learning goals.I have several years of experience tutoring elementary and middle school students across all subjects, with a focus on reading, writing, social studies, and math. I have also worked with high school students in english, history, visual arts, and SAT preparation. I am TEFL certified and enjoy working with adults learners studying English, preparing for the GRE, and pursuing lifelong learning.

I have a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering from the Universities of Michigan and Washington, respectively. My research and professional work have included automotive engineering, healthcare IT, and renewable energy. I have tutored elementary and high school mathematics and am available to tutor all math subjects up to and including AP Calculus AB and Physics. While the mechanics of math problems is important, I think solving real-world applications of mathematics is the true test of how well a concept is understood, and is much more enjoyable to learn. I enjoy hiking, playing with my dog, cooking, road trips, and working on my car.

I have a Bachelor's in Psychology from University of Maryland and am passionate about working with children. I am a Behavior Technician for children with Selective Mutism and am passionate about teaching math and reading.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Case Western Reserve University and a minor in Studio Art. I love math and art, and I find them similar in many ways. I am a patient person, having experience with children in hospital waiting rooms and helping my younger siblings with school. My favorite subjects to tutor are algebra, pre-calculus, and geometry, but I also tutor other subjects within math, art, and computer science. I believe that learning should be fun, and that since all knowledge is cumulative, hopefully the things I teach will become lifelong lessons.Besides tutoring, I enjoy swimming, rock climbing, and anything else that gets me outside or with wild animals. A fun fact from me is that both of my parents are teachers, and my sister is a tutor as well! I'm looking forward to working with you.

I spend my days doing my favorite things in the world: educating and learning from creative, inquisitive kids. I currently create mathematics curriculum for several local school districts, teach pre-kindergarten physical education classes, and run a cooperative education program in the Naugatuck Valley of Connecticut. My current goal is to step back into the classroom and teach in an elementary school.Over the years I have worked in a variety of areas in the field of education. I have worked in many different settings with children of all ages, abilities, interests and backgrounds. My journey started while I was interning in the Hamden Police Department, in an effort to engage the community into the workings of the police department, the detective I was working under and I created a citizens academy to teach community members about law, and the police department. While teaching classes at our newly established, my intern supervisor insisted I should look into teaching, and pointed me in the direction of an alternative education program that would merge my interest in the field of law and all things legal and my talents within the classroom atmosphere.While still in my undergraduate college, I gained employment as a Behavioral Interventionist for the Area Cooperative Educational Services (ACES) Alternative school. I have learned through this experience how to interact and connect with challenging students, how to engage in conversation with them and how to work on their language skills from a beginner to intermediate level. I so enjoyed engaging these challenged students that I solidified my decision to enroll in the graduate of education program at the University of New Haven.

I received my education from Berklee College of Music, majoring in Contemporary Writing and Production. I currently tutor for the following subjects; violin, viola, piano, classical music theory, jazz theory, improvisation, composition/arranging and Japanese. I did my extra credit in high school teaching G5 band kids, and I was also hired from the college to tutor on some of these subjects (music theory and Japanese) as well, so I have 10+ years of experience teaching. I enjoy working with students of all ages and levels, and I grew up in 4 different countries so I have worked with people from different countries as well. I try to get the big picture during my first lesson and plan a rough class plan that works best for the student, so I do not have a set materials/go-to plan, after all, each student has different goals and learning curves and a good instructor is able to adjust accordingly. I like to be surprised by how much the students grow and that is what I strive to achieve through my lessons. Other than that, I love to cook.
