I believe you have untapped potential. You may not write the next great American novel way longer than the last tweet you read but maybe you will! I do believe firmly in one thing you have something to say. I believe I can help you find that thing and say it well. I'm passionate about helping students get in touch with what is inside and helping bring that out. I love English and writing and reading. Don't love reading yet? No problem! You'll love it more when you're better at it, which I believe you can get better at it! I love speech and theatre. Hate getting up in front of a group of people? No problem! I can help you both prepare the words and cultivate calm in the moment with mindfulness and meditation practices. These can also be really helpful in test-taking. Also, I have wonderful tips for studying for those tests.I have a Bachelor's in English, minor in Speech and Theatre. I was certified to teach 7-12 grade English/Language Arts; I'm NCLB highly-qualified K-12 Reading. I've taught students from 3rd grade to 12th grade to college freshman to college adults to seminary students. You're welcome! I also have a Masters of Divinity, specializing in pastoral counseling, and a Doctorate of Ministry in leadership and spiritual formation, in case you have any questions in those areas. I believe we're all saved by ARK: Ask clarifying questions, Reflect before responding, Keep advice unless requested. So I'm here to tutor you in what YOU ask for nothing else. You're the driver. I affirm a student-centered approach to teaching. I'm here to adjust and modify to support how you learn and think. I'm here to help you figure out those things about yourself. I'm here to share my joy of life-long learning and encourage your confidence on that journey. Sure, getting tutoring is extra work but it can also be extra FUN!I'm a laughter enthusiast, walker of woods, collector of hats, rescuer of animals, and lover of people. I hope to meet you soon!

I am a state certified, full-time elementary school teacher. Currently, I teach 4th and 5th grade math. I previously taught 1st grade, 3rd grade math & science, and all subjects in 5th grade. I graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education from The Florida State University in 2009. In addition to my role as a classroom teacher, I have worked as an online and after-school tutor. Everyone talks about the "new math" that is being taught in the classrooms today, but I don't look at it as new math. Instead, I see it as the same math, just in a new way of thinking. I love asking students the "why" and "how" questions to explain their thinking when solving math problems.

I have been a teacher for 15 years. After graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Literature from Hawaii Pacific University, I went on to work in the professional training sector in London, designing an online training course for new recruiters. Then I returned stateside and earned my Masters Degree in Secondary English Education from Brooklyn College and have been a certified NYS teacher since. I see life as a never-ending opportunity to learn new things and conquer new challenges, and you have to be able to laugh at yourself along the way. In my teaching, I try to instill that joy and adventure of learning in everything I do with my students.

I am teacher and has been for 7 years now. I attended Florida Atlantic University from my bachelor's degree. I went to American of College of Education for my master's degree. My bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. My master's is in Educational Leadership. On my teacher certificate, I am endorsed in English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and in Elementary Education K-6. I am working towards my reading endorsement and leadership certification. My tutoring experience is working with students from grade K to 7th. I have taught kindergarten to 5th grade. I have tutored subjects, such as reading, writing, and math. My favorite subjects are reading, writing and math. I like reading and writing because those subjects go hand and hand. In order to read, you need to decode (sound out) words. In order to write the words, you need to encode (to spell) words. When students learn to decode it supports his/her encoding. These are two different skills to teach. Math is another one because there is always more than one way to solve a problem. My mission is to make sure you reach your goal and equip you with tools to be self efficient. I love to enrich minds and help students who are looking for additional support to better their education. When the student(s) and I are working on a problem, I will see different methods to solve a problem or what conceptions him/her may have and that needs to be corrected. Students and I take the beginning of the session to get to know each other and then I assess his/her weaknesses and strengths in the subject matters. I assess varies skills and strategies in each subject. I give 10-15 minutes for a break to have student use the bathroom, stretch or get a mental relief. I give students time to apply skills/strategies that were taught. I am determined to make sure information is convey to my clients. I advocate and work for my students. I am caring and thoughtful to people especially from different ethnicities. I am always willing to make a welcoming learning environment.

Frequently Asked Questions

MBA builds critical thinking and problem-solving skills that apply across academics and careers. A strong foundation in MBA opens doors to advanced coursework and prepares students for standardized tests.

Many students find that success in MBA boosts their confidence in related subjects too.

Common challenges include gaps from earlier material, difficulty with specific concepts, and trouble applying what's learned to new problems. These issues compound quickly in MBA because topics build on each other.

A tutor identifies exactly where you're stuck, fills in gaps, and gives you targeted practice until the concepts click. That 1-on-1 attention makes a big difference.

Look for someone with strong MBA knowledge who can explain concepts in multiple ways until you understand. Patience and the ability to adapt to your learning style matter as much as expertise.

Varsity Tutors vets all tutors through background checks, credential review, and teaching evaluation—so you can focus on finding the right personality and teaching approach fit.

For students who are struggling, stuck, or want to excel, tutoring often pays off in better grades, stronger test scores, and reduced stress. The 1-on-1 format lets you move at your own pace and focus on what you actually need.

Many students also develop better study habits that serve them in other subjects.

Most students benefit from 1-2 sessions per week. If you're significantly behind or have a major exam coming up, more frequent sessions can help you catch up faster.

Your tutor can recommend a schedule based on your goals and timeline.

Yes—both are core parts of tutoring. Tutors help you work through challenging homework problems while teaching the underlying concepts, so you're not just getting answers but actually learning.

For exams, tutors provide targeted review, practice problems, and test-taking strategies specific to MBA.

Tutoring is typically purchased in hour packages, with rates varying by tutor experience and subject complexity. Varsity Tutors offers several package options.

You can discuss pricing during your consultation to find an option that fits your budget and goals.

Your tutor will assess where you are, discuss your goals, and start working on areas where you need the most help. Many students bring current homework or upcoming test material to focus on.

By the end of the session, you'll have a plan for moving forward and a sense of how your tutor approaches teaching MBA.
