I am currently attending Austin Community College and planning on transferring to a 4 year university to achieve a bachelors in chemical engineering after spring semester. Math was once a subject I dreaded on taking having this pre-conceptual thought since high school that I was bad at it, I put it off as long as possible in college. After taking some really hard classes like organic chemistry I had learned that if you go into a class thinking your bad at, that attitude will ultimately reflect on your grade. So there I was going into intermediate algebra with a changed mindset and the grade highly reflected that. Ever since that I have enjoyed math classes. Math is a difficult subject even for me moving up the ladder. Understanding concepts takes time, a lot of time and it can be frustrating. I know the struggle. I have been helping classmates from the beginning of my math career up to now. Given the opportunity to be a supplemental instructor for a college algebra class (the highest dropped class at ACC) it has really made me appreciate spreading the knowledge. Helping students go from D's and C's to A's and B's. The feeling of being able to help someone with a topic I once had difficulty with is indescribable. That is what ultimately led me to reach out to other tutoring positions such as varsity tutors. To spread the knowledge and to relay a positive message to fellow students or anyone looking to understand a difficult subject.Subjects I tutor,Algebra 1Algebra 2TrigonometryCalculus 1

As a teacher with over 17 years experience it is important for me to know what "works" for my students. Sometimes I know right away while other times it takes a considerable amount of work. It is my belief that when a student sees that you care about their success they will go that extra mile and accomplish things they never though possible. I enjoy helping students achieve there goals. In the state of Virginia I am certified in middle grades English and math along with my certification as a K-12 special education teacher. I hold a bachelors degree in marketing, masters in special education and a specialist degree in high education administration. Teaching has always been more than just a job to me it's a way to make a difference. I became a tutor because I believe every student deserves someone who listens, encourages, and never gives up on them. Whether it's helping a child grasp a math problem they've been struggling with or guiding a student to find their voice in writing, I'm always inspired by the "aha" moments I get to witness. My experience as a tutor has taught me that no two learners are the same. I take time to understand each student's learning style, pace, and personality, so I can create lessons that are both effective and enjoyable. I'm especially proud of helping students who once felt discouraged regain their confidence not just in the subject, but in themselves.I want to be the kind of tutor who not only helps students get better grades, but also shows them that learning can be empowering and even fun. If I can make even a small difference in how someone sees themselves and their abilities, I consider that a success.

Many students find that success in MBA boosts their confidence in related subjects too.
Common challenges include gaps from earlier material, difficulty with specific concepts, and trouble applying what's learned to new problems. These issues compound quickly in MBA because topics build on each other.
A tutor identifies exactly where you're stuck, fills in gaps, and gives you targeted practice until the concepts click. That 1-on-1 attention makes a big difference.
Look for someone with strong MBA knowledge who can explain concepts in multiple ways until you understand. Patience and the ability to adapt to your learning style matter as much as expertise.

Many students also develop better study habits that serve them in other subjects.
Most students benefit from 1-2 sessions per week. If you're significantly behind or have a major exam coming up, more frequent sessions can help you catch up faster.
