No one in my household had a formal education but they always encouraged us to study. When I go back home, I am reminded that education took me out of a tough area and saved me from the hustler game. Currently, my dreams and my goals far outshine those of my neighborhood peers.Education is the key to all of my progress. I've seen firsthand how education improves lives.I was living in Buenos Aires when I met a young woman that needed to pass a professional English exam because she had failed it six times before meeting me and needed to pass it in order to graduate from her university. After working together with her, she finally passed. She was really happy but I was thrilled! It was my first time teaching and I was able to change someone's life for the better. I fell in love with teaching at that very moment. I continued teaching her university friends until I had to move. Each of my students passed. This experience helped me to realize that I need to give back to education as education allowed me to do so much. A lot of people helped me along the way as I went from preschool all the way through to law school graduation.One of the main things that helped me to teach this population is the fact that I am fully bilingual in English and Spanish. The ability to speak more than 1 language opens up a whole new world. You get to experience new songs and dances, new friends, conversations for fun or for work, the ability to help others that struggle in one of your languages. The opportunities are immeasurable!In my opinion, the best way to get noticeably positive results is to push students just the right amount. If they are pushed too much, you might turn them away.If you do not push them, however, the results can include a loss of interest, a lack of effort, less learning, and you might create bad study habits.There are benefits to pushing students. It encourages them to be more studious, knowledgeable and curious. If you can learn to learn then you will gain information and therefore become more intellectual.

I'm a senior at the University of Vermont who has been a teaching assistant for C++, Java, and Data Structures and Algorithms college courses over the last two years! I regularly work with and teach up to 40 other undergrads during office hours as well as grade assignments and projects and give relevant feedback. The students I work with successfully complete their assignments and gain an increased familiarity with the content. I also have numerous machine learning projects with Python/Jupyter Notebook and explore my passion through tackling new data problems every day. I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of Texas at Dallas. I am 3 years into my Bachelor of Science in Physics, and i transferred this year to finish my degree at UTD. Until I transferred I was working on two degrees : one in Physics and one in Mathematics, but due to the curriculum difference I decided to drop my mathematics major. Throughout my three years in college as well as my senior year in high school, I've had experience tutoring students in various subjects such as trigonometry-based physics, calculus-based physics, as well as AP calculus. Calculus-based Physics is my passion when it comes to tutoring, since I've developed quite a bit of experience with it so I have been able to practice different ways with working with students on this subject.
