Every student can be successful. I have been teaching languages for 20 years. I have a Bachelors degree in teaching foreign languages, a Masters in English as a Second Language (ESL), and I am currently earning a second Masters in teaching languages to speakers of other languages. Teaching is not my job- it is my passion. I would love to have the opportunity to help others with their language learning needs.

I graduated from Wingate University as a Doctor of Physical Therapy. I have a B.S. in Kinesiology from Pacific Lutheran University. As a PT, I work in the outpatient realm and am most knowledgeable in orthopedics and sports medicine. I understand how stressful studying for the NPTE can be, and having passed the exam in 2018 I am familiar with its current format. I hope that I can help students get over this hurdle so that they can start their careers on the right foot.

I am a graduate of Lehigh University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. I have been tutoring math for over five years. I started tutoring in college helping fellow students in math. The math subjects I tutor include but are not limited to Algebra, Pre-calculus, Calculus, Trigonometry, Geometry, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations. I have worked with many students from different social and educational backgrounds, and I adapt my teaching methods to each individual student to ensure that they understand the material while enjoying the subject matter. I have a BA degree in Math and an MS degree in Math Education, both from Lehman College. I worked for Honeywell International for 25 years. Half on my time at Honeywell, I was a technical trainer, teaching programming courses and operating system courses. I taught customers in the United States and from different countries. The other half of my time, I was a software test engineer. I retired from Honeywell in 2003.In 2003, I joined Everest College Phoenix. I teach math both on ground and online. In 2015, I joined Brown Mackie College and Grand Canyon University. In November, I will be married to my lovely wife, Sharon, for 47 years. I have two sons, Andrew and Mathew. Andrew is an oncologist. He is married and has two children, Benjamin and Lexie, who are 13 and7 years old, respectively. My younger son, Mathew, is an aspiring pharmacist with an MS degree in Psychology. Both Andrew and Mathew graduated from the University of Arizona for their undergraduate education. We have two cats, Pebbles and Sprinkles. I am looking forward to working with you this term.

I am an incoming college sophomoore studying Aerospace Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. I was one of the top scholars at Carmel High School in Indiana and have various experiences teaching and tutoring through leading the Carmel High School Science Olympiad team to Nationals for two years in a row. Many of my friends consistently come to me for help with various subjects because of my willingness to help and teach in a way that makes sense to everyone. My specialities are physics, chemistry, math, and economics but I am comfortable tutoring any STEM subject, the SAT, and the ACT. Some of my accomplishments include a perfect 36 ACT score, 800 on the Physics, Math Level 2, and Chemistry SAT subject tests, and a 5 on all the physics, Calculus BC, Chemistry, Macroeconomics, Computer Science, etc. AP exams. When teaching, I focus on making sure that not only do students understand different concepts, but also that students understand why and practical applications of the different concepts. As a recent high school graduate, I have a deep understanding of how high-schoolers think, what is covered in various courses now, and can connect with my students a lot more. Additionally, as an undergraduate teaching assistant at the College of Computing at Georgia Tech, I taught weekly recitation sections of 30 students and held weekly office hours. Therefore, I have lots of experience teaching and working with students.

Growing up in a place heavily influenced by France and all its culture like Morocco, I developed a new sense of self apart from my African roots. Morocco may be known for its Mediterranean foods, its beautiful architecture and mosaic style and its beautiful beaches and sand dunes of the Sahara but its French influence is hardly ever mentioned. Due to the French colonization of the country, I grew up speaking both French and Arabic and went on to attend private schools under the French educational system. This is where I learned proper French with all its rules and uses as well as proper Arabic.Since I was not obligated and expected to know my grammar and conjugation and all the other aspects of French until I started school, I realized how challenging it really was. However, like everyone else in my class, I pulled through until I graduated high school with a French diploma. I would have never made it through school if it were not for my teachers who gave me ample support and understanding whenever I succeeded and, more importantly, whenever I fell short. They became role models and motivated me to do well and to not give up to not only make them and my parents proud but myself as well. This is the experience that I hope I provide students with.When my own daughters were going through the same French system I went through in Morocco, I helped them with their homework and assignments almost every day until they finally understood it well enough to go through their own by themselves. Of course, I still helped them every now and then but they are now proficient French speakers and know as much grammar, colloquialisms, vocabulary and slang as I do. I even helped out their friends at the time and felt overjoyed at their success- I was very proud. I was a volunteer tutor for over 12 years until I moved my family to Texas. Here, my daughters tested out of the most advanced French classes of their schools but their friends still came to me. This was the time I learned that French is a much more complicated language for English native speakers. There are far more rules and styles in French that are not observed in English, such as gender roles. It took me a little while but I learned to help their friends get the grades they wanted and learn some French along the way. I learned a lot from my students along the way and want to transform my experiences into something I can do every day.I strive to be not only a teacher but a mentor at the same time. To become an educator whose influence is observed outside the classroom- at interviews, jobs, restaurants, parks, conventions, etc. My biggest gain comes from seeing my students do better in school, gain self-confidence and being proud of themselves, as their success is a reflection of both my methods. By teaching a language with which I grew up, I hope to both gain and give new cultural perspectives and share my love for the language.

There is nothing better than to learn something new everyday. I make sure I do this for myself and my hope is that you do likewise. Teaching is a two-way street. A good teacher should always remain a student. In fact, the best way to really know something is to teach it! I tell myself to always be ready and open to learning new things. I am from Atlanta Georgia and lived in Tennessee for four years and received my Bachelors of Arts in Exercise Science. I have been in the field of education for over ten years. I have experience in early childhood, elementary reading intervention, middle school special education and high school 1:1 ABA clinical work. While working in a variety of settings I have saw the problem we have as a community in grade level delay as well as classroom learning struggles. It inspired me to tackle the issue at hand which is to meet children where they are so they can have the confidence to be where they need to be. My educational mission is to empower students and it is very important for me to be a part of the educational solution in this country. I recently graduated from high school with an advanced diploma in Math and Science, achieving a 95+ score in all regents tests. I have tutored students at my temple and at my high school. Even though I have tutored many subjects, my expertise is in highschool math and science classes. I also teach chess, having a 1200+ rapid rating. I greatly believe in teaching with fun and passion and I try my best to make the learning process for my student as fun as possible. In my spare time, I usually practice magic tricks and I might incorporate tricks in my lessons.
